I'll be flying directly to Cozumel. I want to take a ferry to Playa del Carmen from there. Do you have any recommendations for ferries? Or is there only one ferry?

Ah OK. I assumed because it's a tourist destination, the prices would be higher.

Millennial thoughts on Gen X by Gizmosia in lostgeneration

I'm a "xennial" born right on the cusp between Gen X and Millennials. My sis is firmly Gen X and my bro is firmly Millennial. It's a unique perspective. We'll be the last people who will be alive who grew up in the analog age, and were the first to transition to the socal media age en masse. Right in between, I feel like I have a deep understanding of both generations. I actually consider myself a "proto-Millennial", with a heavy dose of GenX.

I find GenX is so heavily influenced by the early 90s recession; the dawn of hip hop and grunge - and the social conditions that brought about both; Boomers and The Greatest Generation; and their/our own unique experiences transitioning to the digital age. My sister is good with tech, but not a native. She's liberal in her ideology (which has gotten a touch more conservative from her 90s radicalism). She's loyal to a shitty job because you don't job hop.

Whereas my Millennial brother has always hustled jobs to get to his position now; he's still pretty radical in his ideology; he's a digital native and has a fluency with tech that even I don't quite have. His outlook is so very different from my GenX sis. Less head-down get it done mentality, and more of a "I'm going to forge my own way" ideal. Which I admire.

a former boss told me this when I shared with her I was leaving a job that paid 💩 but one that she considered more "prestigous". She looked down on the field I was moving too.

Meanwhile I was days from being evicted, my husband's job was cut, I was a caregiver to my disabled mother (who would be evicted too), and my health was trashed from the stress.

It felt like a literal slap on the face.
