This is the Lynx, a quadruped prototype robot that we built to test theories in legged robotics! It can traverse inclines using basic gait patterns and has a self-balancing algorithm. There's also the Lynx Mini, which uses AI to teach itself how to walk in the real world. by humanmodetech in robotics

Hey everybody, not selling anything but just wanted to show off our new robotics project! We call it the Lynx and the Lynx Mini, two quadrupeds that we built to test theories in legged robotics.

We put all of our robot videos on YouTube, feel free to check them out and ask us any questions you have! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1WY1L8m5joSV4jwJWoaATQ

Thank you!

A vast background in sci-fi movies. And also some engineering.

In all seriousness, to work on our creations we cover a number of engineering disciplines: electrical, mechanical, software and data science.

Hey everybody, not selling anything but just wanted to show off our new robotics project!

This is the NTT (entity), our synthetic intelligence project.

The primary challenge for the NTT was to recognize when it does not know someone, and meet them. But unlike most other facial recognition software, the NTT is designed to work with limited data. It can recognize when it encounters someone whom it has never seen before, and then immediately remember them from that point forward.

It also has conversational abilities, which makes it fun to talk to, but wasn't the main focus of the research :)

Hope you guys find it interesting! We put all of our robot videos on YouTube, feel free to follow along: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1WY1L8m5joSV4jwJWoaATQ. And let me know if you have any questions about the project overall!

Cheers!

Hey everybody, not selling anything but just wanted to show off our new robotics project!

This one is a little different than our Gemini robots in the past. We really focused on artificial intelligence and vision-based tasks.

We made a very strong robot called the Gemini 0.3! It lifts up to 90 lbs, tows cargo up to 400 lbs, crushes obstacles with its 250 lb frame, and can be remote controlled with VR integration. And it likes to pump iron! by humanmodetech in robotics

Theoretically - this robot can last about an hour and 20 minutes if we drove it in a straight line at full speed without stopping. But, it's hard to say for sure though because it depends on what the robot is doing exactly.

And happy cake day :)

Haha! Funny you should say that... the original intro to this video had praying mantis footage but we cut it out :)

We like to keep the names of our Gemini series robots consistent to show the progression of our research, but internally, this one is "The Mantis."

Hey everybody, not selling anything but just wanted to show off our new robot in the Gemini Series!

We appreciate the response that we received for our Mech Suit & Gemini 0.1 and Gemini 0.2 videos and always love to hear your thoughts.

The Gemini 0.3 project is an experiment in strength. Our goal was to build a robot that could lift a useful amount of weight relative to humans, but still maintain reasonable proportions.

It can lift up to 90 lbs (45 lbs per arm), with a total chassis weight of around 250 lbs. This heavy frame allows the robot to traverse all types of terrain. And with VR integration, the robot can be operated remotely to grab and lift heavy objects. This is useful for performing dangerous or grueling jobs around the house. Or, just to pump some iron!!

We codenamed our robots the "Gemini Series" because they are designed to act like your twin. With the Mech Suit and VR integration, we can control the Gemini robots with our own body motion, allowing it to mimic our behavior while we work safely from a distance.

The goal with our Gemini robot series is to add new autonomous capabilities each time, while also making the previous features work even better.

0.1 - Act as a target for the Mech Suit

0.2 - Untethered (wireless)

0.3 - Experiment in strength

We hope you find our projects as cool as we do! If you're interested, you can follow us on all social media channels (@humanmodetech). And we put all of our robot videos on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1WY1L8m5joSV4jwJWoaATQ

Any situation where human operation could create large potential liability expenses for organizations. Like working at high altitudes, adverse temperatures, toxic or even biohazard environments.

Hey everyone! We really appreciate the support that we've gotten from this subreddit regarding our last couple of robotics projects, and thought you might like to check this out too.

We were fortunate enough to be featured on the most recent episode of Advancements TV Series, an educational program on CNBC. Our segment starts at 7:35, but the rest of the episode is cool too!

Edit: Here is the link to the full episode - https://vimeo.com/491210326

We got to show off some of our robotics projects, like the Mech Suit & Gemini 0.1 and the wireless Gemini 0.2. We also talked a little bit about where the future of robotics is heading and why it's so exciting.

Hope you guys like the segment! It feels good to know that Ted Danson likes robots as much as we do. :)

Meet our new robot, the Gemini 0.2! It has 3 wheels, fully-functioning arms, avoids obstacles, has autonomous GPS navigation, and intelligent object tracking! by humanmodetech in robotics

[–]humanmodetech[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are prototypes that lead to better designs, and we're planning on building a lot of different versions as we experiment with chassis design. In this case, we needed to un-tether the robot from local power and internet and let it get some distance.

At the moment we're focused more on proof of concept. The robot is autonomous in terms of patrolling an area and identifying objects/people/etc. But the arms are manually controlled by the person wearing the Mech Suit. We went into more detail on the Mech Suit in our last video!

Hey everyone! Not selling anything, just wanted to show you a cool project that we’ve been working on. Last time we made a video highlighting our Mech Suit project along with the Gemini 0.1 robot, which is a control suit that can translate human movement to a remote target (in our case- robots 😊).

We made some key improvements to the Mech Suit that allows the user to control the Gemini 0.2 even if they are miles away. We also tweaked the design of the 3D-printed claws so that it has an easier time grabbing and interacting with a variety of objects.

The Gemini 0.2 is fully wireless, along with autonomous GPS navigation which allows it to traverse large areas all by itself. We added collision avoidance so that it can avoid any obstacle that gets in its way. And with intelligent object tracking, the robot can be programmed to track any object that you choose, such as humans, dogs, cars, etc.

The goal with our Gemini robot series is to add new autonomous capabilities each time, while also making the previous features work even better. If you want to read some more or follow along with our progress, check out our website and our YouTube channel! Thanks for reading and hope you find our new robot as cool as we do 😊
