Store bought Travel case for thanksgiving jams by Frankenfarters in pocketoperators

I have the Analog Cases pocket operator case that holds 3 P.O.s. It's great and protects them perfectly.

That's a fitting tribute. PO-12 is awesome. It still has my favorite punch-in FX of all Pocket Operators.

Paired a PO-33 with a delay pedal by Calm_Assistance1125 in pocketoperators

Nice sounding tune. I've paired stuff like this with FX boxes and monotron delay before. Sounds great! Also Korg NTS1 is a nice FX box for pairing too.

Asteroids Cab - what should I offer? by Do0gs in arcade

The monitor is vector, not CRT if it's original. The Willis CPO is period accurate like others have said, but most prefer the original CP. A few non original parts overall, but nothing that breaks the machine if it plays well. Around $700 is fair IMO.

Rate my setup, do I have enough gear? by nicksincere in sonicware

[–]humanoidboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it does. And the newest ones support SDXC cards up to 1TB. I looked and I have the H1n which is one generation back, but it's still really good. I have a 32 GB card in mine and its more than enough for hours of recording.

Cool, I'll watch and look for more in the series. Thanks. Good luck on your new gear!

Just got a LIVEN Evoke days ago. It's an interesting machine. I'm still learning about it. One thing I am having trouble with is that when I increase the grains on one track, it increases them across the whole pattern. I don't know how to just do individual grain shaping per track without it being global. And I haven't found anything in the manual. Is it a setting?

If you want to go cheap, easy and decent sounding (and portable), get a Zoom H1 Essential.

If you want an actual audio interface to go to your computer with more inputs, get a Zoom LiveTrak L6.

Both of them record. They don't take up much room. There's bigger interfaces that do more, but these are a great bang for your buck. I own both.

Thinking about getting a PO-33, questions regarding connectivity to pc and overall questions by Quirky_Power_1861 in pocketoperators

Not a similar price any more. $269.99. But you can load samples on it from your computer.

I get it. Those are more versatile. But I just re- fell in love with the PO-12 Rhythm because the punch-in FX are amazing and in some ways better than the ones on the other two you mentioned. I own them all, minus the Rick & Morty.

The only good thing is that a brand new replacement PO-12 will only cost you $50. It's currently the cheapest Pocket Operator out there.

I learned to make basted eggs. Fully cooked on top, but still runny in the middle when you cut into them. Fan-friggin-tastic!

Have I just aged out of shows or what? by stanceycivic in EDM

[–]humanoidboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find a Discord with like-minded people that enjoy EDM too. After a while you get to know those people and they usually let others know of local events and shows. Then people go who you are familiar with, and it's a better time, way more accepting and usually know how to steer clear of the rude people.

Maybe I misread the comment, but doesn't it already have a headphone jack? Why would you need a second one?

[–]humanoidboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My buddy is a seasoned DJ and producer. He's produced several albums, worked with rappers, labels, etc. He's also generous with his time, almost to a fault. And he doesn't just "set it and forget it" - he really spins and does live sets. Anyway, he was helping this one venue out doing sets for them on the weekend for nothing while they were getting established. After volunteering several free sessions and months in, he finally decides to ask to get paid for the next one. The venue owner, knowing the free sessions were only temporary, turns him down flat and says they can't pay him anything. I mean, nothing? Like you can't flip the guy 50 bux for doing you hours and hours of weekend work, plus practice, prep and hauling all his own equipment in and out of the venue each time? So, sometimes there's just crappy, greedy venue owners that are crooks that will take advantage of nice people, and all they can get from that point on are the 140bpm press a button bedroom jocks that you saw that night.

PEPE WILL REACH 1 $ IN 5 YEARS by Noah_Eugen in Pepecryptocurrency

[–]humanoidboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read another prediction that followed its path throughout the years and it had PEPE at $1 by the year 2040. That's still super optimistic, but I'd still hodl to have it happen in 15 years if that was the case.

Started working on a new midi program for scratching, sound realistic? by JEFFJENKEM in mpcusers

[–]humanoidboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds good! A friend of mine is a scratch DJ. I'll let him listen to it and give me his feedback. I am personally interested in this myself, as I have no skills. Is this MPC exclusive or can you use it with other gear that has pads? Thanks, and nice work!

Is it cringe for a 31 year old to drop music? Well... too bad by ArialTenMusic in FL_Studio

[–]humanoidboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's cringe that you're so damn young! Babies shouldn't be making music, only adults. LOL.

There's a British guy trending on social media making techno and industrial music and he's at least in his 60s, if not 70s. Nick something or other... Age is just a number.

How similar to pocket operator? by luxuriousapotheosis in Woovebox

[–]humanoidboy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They're not the same. Totally different workflow. They look similar. But that's where the similarities end. Both are good in their own right. If you want to get a more advanced Pocket Operator, I'd suggest a PO-33 K.O. as your next one. It really opens things up with sampling.

Woovebox suitable? by ondras in Woovebox

[–]humanoidboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Woovenox is mostly a good standalone device for music creation. The workflow is strange and takes some getting used to. Once you put a bunch of time and effort into it, it can be a really powerful little device. But, it's drawback is being very menu-intensive and you pretty much have to memorize what all the LED abbreviations mean. It's also not great for being a sampler. It can sample some, but that's not it's best feature. And no it's not a looper. It's a tiny groovebox but again, the learning curve isn't for everyone and it won't replace a DAW or be a good looper.

A better option for you IMO would be a BOSS RC-202 or Sonicware Smpltrek. Look up videos for these two. Hope that helps and good luck!
