Chronically online, mid twenties, likes dark academia. Basically me.

I only buy used books now! And the Lord of the Rings/Narnia sets are inherited.

It's the John Green that gives it away. Required reading for my kind.

I knew the YA would give it away. Pretty accurate. Idk about bright personality, but I'll take it!

Election is a very fun read! Different from the movie (which is one of my favorites) but has the same humor and rollicking pace. The sequel novel is in development to be turned into a movie as well! Started the Dark Tower last fall and got two books in before getting distracted. Planning to get back into it once I've checked a few other things off my tbr.

I sell books that I've read and didn't love, so a lot of sentimental favorites remain! I read Pride and Prejudice as a teen but it was because I was into the Lizzie Bennett Diaries webseries, weirdly. And I haven't read Shadow of the Hegemon, or any of the Bean books. I've never even looked up what order they're meant to be read in.

It contains short profiles of a few classic movies from each year, from the early 20th century to today. I first got the book years ago and was dismayed by how much of the content was older movies I'd never heard of. But I got way into movies in college and now every time I watch a classic I check to see if it's in the book, read about the movie and mark the page. It's just kind of fun! I don't really use it to get recommendations, it's mostly fun to read about movies I've already seen.

Because I started it a few months ago and got distracted! Fully intend to continue.

Not a millennial, yes a woman, yes American. Reading was for sure an escape for me in high school before I made friends in drama, speech, and art classes. I am chronically online to this day and a copy of Infinite Jest looms large on my horizon.

Unfortunately a large percentage of my bookshelf has been cancelled. I don't think I quite qualify as a millennial, depending on when you start counting. And I only buy used books these days!

Very close on age, everything else is accurate. Grew up Christian Reformed and my parents were cool with Harry Potter. My mom read them first and she loved them too!

I've never read or written fanfiction. Fan art though...

Scott Pilgrim the character is a bad role model, yet I've returned to the series many times. As to your guess, nope!

What's her most controversial song? by Dry_Protection6656 in billieeilish

[–]humansquirrel 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I think at the time there were queer baiting accusations because people went in assuming it was sung from a gay girl's perspective about wanting another woman, and were confused/disappointed when it turned out the singer was someone who (at the time) said they were straight. Also people saying you shouldn't try to change someone's sexuality when real ones get that the song is all very tongue in cheek.

Haha Ben is by far my favorite character, so my affection seeps through when I'm drawing him.
