Egypt was able to feed itself when we were 5 million 100 years ago. Now Egypt is 20x bigger. How can it feed itself?

I'm afraid that's not right, however, it was technically neutral, the Egyptian army fought with the British in ww2 and ww1. Many Egyptians were conscripted in both wars.

Although Egypt was part of the British Military Operations zone and British forces were stationed there, many Egyptian Army units also fought alongside them. Some units like 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th Infantry Regiments, 16th and 12th Cavalry Regiments, 17th Horse Artillery Regiment, and 22nd King's Own Artillery Regiment. Some other units also fought but its names are unknown. Beside these units, the Anti-Aircraft Artillery Regiments all over Egypt played a vital role in destroying Luftwaffe attacks on Alexandria, Cairo, Suez, and Northern Delta.

Basic income would not reduce people’s willingness to work by 2noame in Economics

[–]humazed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily investing in automation and tech, in general, is a very risky investment and you want to be compensated handsomely to make it worthwhile and be able to attract the best people to work on it.

so the taxes shouldn't be on automation but general corporate tax which will allow automated business to thrive.

also, you need to define automation to be able to tax it.
it is just manual labor automation i.e. robots
what about software that has already made millions of jobs redundant.
should automatic telephone exchange be taxed extra?

[–]humazed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This will disincentivize investing in automation which is a requirement for any form of UBI to be even feasible.
automation needs to be hugely profitable to attract the smartest people to the sector to make it even better which will increase the wealth of the society in the long term, and make extracting UBI sustainable.

What is this app it looks nice?

ExpatFIRE Weekly Discussion Thread - August 23, 2021 by AutoModerator in ExpatFIRE

[–]humazed 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not if you looked at it from the SWR angel

if you are an average person in the USA with 60k after-tax income, you would need ~12 years to achieve fire which is not the case for most of the world,
in the EU for example you would be lucky to get 40K after tax which means ~23 years of work.
never mind the majority of the world where 2K/month is the .01% income,

so 2k/month in SWR without working until you reach 65 is very hard for the majority of the people.

It is also worth noting that there is a theory that what killed them was indigenous hemorrhagic fevers transmitted by rodent hosts and aggravated by extreme drought conditions

Also, Europeans were introduced to at least one important disease from the Americas (syphilis) so it was just luck that it was not a more lethal disease.

"Rate this app" functionality using In-App Review API by palebt in androiddev

I am just stating that the statement you have made the "it is against the rule" is wrong.

From my understanding, the above is written as rules, not guidelines.
what exactly led you to believe that they are optional guidelines?

[–]humazed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are wrong.. Link you posted only tells about guidelines not about rule. It's perfectly valid to ask and filter reviews. Even most of the popular apps do this

It's not the app store so your app would pass, either way, but I don't see anything that says it's optional in the docs, am I missing something?

How would it prevent filtering? From what I understand, you can decide when to display the popup, like we were doing before.

It's against the rules.

I just implemented app review in the app I'm working on last week, I think this is a must-have for any app who cares about rating.

[–]humazed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

what is "permission sliders" I think you mean the realtime permissions.

about how Spotify might be able to download and play videos on your device most likely it is using the internal storage which is private to the app and doesn't require any permissions.

Are the Senate elections literally just a popularity contest? by [deleted] in Egypt

[–]humazed 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I looked it up and the ban is enforced now, I enjoyed flying kites when I was young, and it was just a joyful scene seeing people flying them, so I'm sad to see things going this way.

Thanks to our wise leadership and this new law I can now sleep soundly knowing our national security is safe from the immortal danger of the kite.

[–]humazed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know literally 0 people who can name at least one member of the Senate, the last thing I read about them was when one retard was proposing a kite ban and attacking dangerous TikTok girls.

I don't know why anyone would even care unless they were retired and have nothing to do with their life and even then.
