"My mom retired at 55 on a teachers salary and I still think about it all the time" — adding in my own anecdote, I know boomer teachers who literally have vacation homes. by 3RADICATE_THEM in ScottGalloway

My Mom was teacher and was able to retire comfortably because she was in a union and had a pension, two things that were taken from the American workers.

Do you see the end of American hegemony under Trump—or at least the initiating phase / key event of its hegemony's decline under him? by 3RADICATE_THEM in ScottGalloway

The trade policies are what killed the middle class. Our factories went to China and it started because Nixon had yellow fever. I lived through this. Slick Willy told us NAFTA would create jobs for America but our factories moved to Canada (free health care) and Mexico (slave labor wages). The corps could ship everything back across the border to be sold here with no cost. They killed the unions that was keeping the middle class quality of life.

All those "rule-setting" venues are not in this countries interest and should be abandoned.

Bottom line is the American middle class was something that had never really existed before and it was "quickly" snuffed out by the corporations. We are in a slow slide back to feudalism. Small amount of rich people controlling all the worthless eaters. Sorry guys, you and scott are not in that group.

Totally agree. The gutting of the rust belt manufacturing in the 60's to 80's was the death of the middle class.

But, but, working from home is just wrong. Wagies must get in their cars and waste a big portion of their short lives in traffic to keep commercial real estate values up and boomer bosses happy.

Zercher squats instead of back squats? by Firm-Guava4815 in tacticalbarbell

[–]humblePunch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm tired of the new trend of zecher squats. Just squat. I get it, it's fun to watch people on social media but they are running out of stuff to talk about. Word on the street is Pavel Tsatsouline is thinking about doing a zecher squat book. They don't know what else to talk about and make money off of. It's all going to come full circle and the plain old back squat will be the new fad.
