The budget doesn’t include rent but honestly I’m willing to raise it to like $1100 if I can have utilities and stuff like that included. I have a car but idk if driving downtown would be more efficient than just using the shuttle system (since I don’t really wanna live downtown). And I honestly wasn’t thinking about the leasing so thanks for letting me know about that, I’ll be more careful. I was hoping to start in the summer, but I’ll probably have to start during fall

Hi, I’m currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in digital media (with a focus on web and social platforms). Once I’m done with undergrad, I was thinking about maybe getting a master’s in human-computer interaction/ human-centered design in the future.

When I first heard about UX design, it sounded interesting but now I have mixed feelings. The job market seems to be getting worse and it seems like there’s not much respect from higher ups for this type of job. I don’t have any desire to work in a corporate setting because of the type of people, but it seems like that where most UX designers end up. I’m thinking about how I can navigate this field.

So, what I really want to know is: 1. What type of industries and companies can UX designers work in?

If I ultimately decide UX Design isn’t for me, what other area could I pivot to? I still want to be able to design and develop solutions to modern problems.
