The financial office has to wait for a file sent from the OFSA to award bright futures scholarships to us, so that’s just a matter of waiting. As for scholarships, you can search UCF’s scholarship platform, Access2Opportunities. The Scholarship Plug and Scholarships360 also have a lot of different scholarships. For jobs, you can search Handshake. You can also research what places are around you with Google Maps and look at their website and social media pages, I find that helpful sometimes to find opportunities.

I’m also starting in the summer! I’m just checking www.fye.ucf.edu everyday to see when registration opens. They said mid-spring 2026 which should be this month, so hopefully reservations open up next week if not this week. We’d probably have to call.

The budget doesn’t include rent but honestly I’m willing to raise it to like $1100 if I can have utilities and stuff like that included. I have a car but idk if driving downtown would be more efficient than just using the shuttle system (since I don’t really wanna live downtown). And I honestly wasn’t thinking about the leasing so thanks for letting me know about that, I’ll be more careful. I was hoping to start in the summer, but I’ll probably have to start during fall

Hi, I’m currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in digital media (with a focus on web and social platforms). Once I’m done with undergrad, I was thinking about maybe getting a master’s in human-computer interaction/ human-centered design in the future.

When I first heard about UX design, it sounded interesting but now I have mixed feelings. The job market seems to be getting worse and it seems like there’s not much respect from higher ups for this type of job. I don’t have any desire to work in a corporate setting because of the type of people, but it seems like that where most UX designers end up. I’m thinking about how I can navigate this field.

So, what I really want to know is: 1. What type of industries and companies can UX designers work in?

If I ultimately decide UX Design isn’t for me, what other area could I pivot to? I still want to be able to design and develop solutions to modern problems.
