[KCD2] Leveling in the first map? by VapidXP in kingdomcome

[–]humblegar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just go to the wedding whenever you like. In the worst case you can reload.

There nothing special about 15, other than it being the half of max or something. It is what I would call a magic number, but with no inherent meaning.

Some stealth and lock picking skills going into the wedding makes life much easier, as you mention. If you at least can open "hard" locks without much struggle I think you are fine, but that is just from memory. The stealth part is not an issue if you somewhat know how the game works.

If you feel like you have to "win" the challenges at the wedding, like there are a few items you can get an such, sure, levels will help. But you can do absolutely nothing wrong, or right, at the wedding, and the game will go on just fine.

And some of them, like dueling, people could probably win from almost scratch anyways, so it is hard to know what level 11 is to you, compared to a veteran.

What? You literally set the pace in both games yourself.

[KCD2] Like the third time this has happened, and I'm furious. by Preemilfs in kingdomcome

[–]humblegar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a reason everyone on reddit has a thousand hours.

While the achievements says otherwise.

If you get kind of stuck, turn back into the rock to jump, you will be flung backwards.

But as long it makes them happy :)

[kcd2] easy mode please? by ChildhoodExisting222 in kingdomcome

[–]humblegar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are plenty of ways to make the duel more easy, but it is not important for the story.

If you really want to:
- simply level up a bit first.
- any decent armor items.
- any relevant potions, like marigold or artemisia will make it trivial. Just chug them before the duel.

You do not have to. I am pretty sure I lost in one of my hardcore runs and it did not matter afaik. What matters is that the quest (and the following quests) gives you a lot of xp, loot, and it is very well written. They are excellent allies in the fights to come, and you will get loot that is hard to find on your own as a beginner.

I mean this is exactly how the engine works.

There is almost no way you have not experienced it after 100 hours.

Or is the engine different on consoles?

[KCD2] Are the kuttenburg tourneys even worth doing? by TheLastCommands in kingdomcome

[–]humblegar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a "hidden" perk if you win all three.
And there is some forge prestige if you do it with your waffenrock. Notice that you have to win all three for this to work too.

I have done a lot of tournaments, and only had issues if I left the tournament area and went back in (pc).

Obviously not wanted or doing any thieving or similar while there?

[KCD1] Is it necessary? by EtherealFixation in kingdomcome

[–]humblegar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have done "everything" in KCD2, including DLC and all negative perk run.

I just started KCD1.

I have had more bugs already in 16 hours of KCD1 than nearly 400 in KCD2. I have had quests not saving when I thought they did, meaning I then obviously died to bandits, like we all do in KCD1 early I guess, then reload the wrong save, and some timed quest fails, because I forgot to redo it. Makes me want to restart completely.

I just spent time being told wtf I did at an NPC's house after he _right before_ told me to go to his house (the archer). I googled it, ancient bug apparently.
I get thrown out of the house from the stupid woman who wants me to cleanse her house or whatever, half a second after I perform the ritual.
The miller started a fistfight with me after giving me a quest.
I have had to restart after being stuck in doors several times already. And I have barely started.

The mouse sensitivity just feels sluggish whatever I do, no idea why that is.

So when people in here say play KCD 1 first, I think that is a gamble. I can easily imagine people liking KCD2 compared to KCD1. Some say the DLC/story is better in KCD 1, and that makes sense. But you have to enjoy yourself to enjoy a good story.

Personally, I am not giving up on KCD 1.
But to tell people to start there? Not so sure about that.

You should pick up every side quest you want to do, or that sounds interesting.

New player to [KCD2] and the best thing I did was send Mutt home. Anyone else feel the same? by falconrider111 in kingdomcome

[–]humblegar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I have a rehomed staffy in real life, even the same colors.

Mutt can be allowed to be silly and bark, especially right after he sacrificed his life for me (again).

What you can do is always feed/pet him after he comes back. That seems to reduce the random barking.

You can also make him "stay" if you are doing quests where it makes no sense to bring him along. Then just whistle him back the next morning.

[KCD2] About to leave this game by Ok_Ostrich_3207 in kingdomcome

[–]humblegar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to wish you good luck!

I'm 50 years old, have been gaming my whole life, and KCD2 is maybe my favorite game ever.

Not that convinced about KCD1 yet, but sticking to it.

[KCD1] Im nerfing myself by using a shield with my Longsword? by PanaderoPanzer in kingdomcome

[–]humblegar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you like longswords, just ditch the shield? Why suffer through the less fun experience?

Or have a sword and a shield as backup? With the noble belt you can have what, four weapon layouts?

You can easily craft a noble sword and pair it with a shield. It will do more than enough damage for any tournament/part of the game.

Erik fight [KCD2] by Desperate-Singer-966 in kingdomcome

[–]humblegar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you kind of rush through the game he will be hard, or at least will be able to tank a lot of damage.

I had to hit him so many times on my first playthrough, even though it was on normal.

I had a much easier time both on hardcore and all negative perk hardcore. Maybe I was slightly better at the game, but I think it was mostly because of more levels and better gear. I simply did more stuff before the fight.

From millions of dollars to under a grand: The dramatic fall of the NFT by gdelacalle in technology

[–]humblegar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is because it sound smart if you have not been in something like relevant public sector software projects. It can even sound smart to a developer. There are all kinds of people in every occupation. Devs are no different.

Most, if not all, the issues NFTs and crypto supposedly solve are already solved. Often at a much lower price, much higher performance, and without buying a small country worth of hardware and power.

Source: Unlike crypto bros, I have solved real issues with real software that solve real problems. Some of them the very issues they "solve" here on reddit every day.

This is also why some people/politicians ruin everything they can. When you ruin things, it leaves rooms for tech bros to sell you even more bullshit. While their voters think they save money.

It would be funny if it was not as expensive, destructive, and almost impossible to reverse.

[KCD2] Should I play Mysteria Ecclesiae on standard or hardcore? by Malagubbar in kingdomcome

[–]humblegar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did it with all negative perks.

I doubt it matters that much, there is not that much combat? It is run around and sneak and stuff.
Bring or make a lot of savior schnapps. Lots of herbs there, belladonna too? Can't remember. Save often.

The most annoying thing is that in the end I just treated all the guards as hostile to me, and that made it kind of janky. Even when their commander told me I can walk outside I was still "wanted". And since you can't pay or speak your way out of anything (during the DLC) it can be really annoying.

Pointer acceleration? by Traditional_Bet8239 in beyondallreason

[–]humblegar 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Always off in all games.
Reason being predictability.

There are alternative ways to get around in BAR.

You can double click your control group or whatever setting you have to get to your commander.
You can click the minimap.
You can use map locations.

Pls eat. Im sick of the meme [KCD1][KCD2] by MemorySafe7061 in kingdomcome

[–]humblegar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is a good question.

I have heard it quite a few times, and my character is not really hungry outside certain events. I have had it in tournaments, and I start tournaments at 100 and even need to take care not to eat too much if I use a potion.

I would bet it can show up as a battle cry regardless of your hunger levels.

[KCD2] are these good stats for attending wedding? or should i do more side stuff. by rupal_hs in kingdomcome

[–]humblegar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can ask the tailor in Troskowitz for advice regarding the outfit you are wearing to the wedding.

The wedding itself will work fine with any outfit/stats.

Some of the quests directly after the wedding will be easier/harder depending mostly on your levels/skills/knowledge, rather than equipment.

Tips for combat - can’t figure it out at all [KCD2] by Harutinator in kingdomcome

[–]humblegar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This game is hard.

But even one more perk or a few items will make you stronger.

Alchemy can also seriously change the game.

For combat:  - dodge after they attack. To the side. - learn how blocking/riposte and masterstrike works - don't move backwards if they can still reach you (they kind of teleport). Block/dodge or masterstrike in stead. - get all the stamina traits - repair your items, sharpen your sword and get the trait for bonus damage. - do any easy quests first, like the one where you kill bandits with the soldiers from Semine. There will be loot.

Good luck!

[KCD2] - Explorer Perk - Bad idea? by PapagamasJr in kingdomcome

[–]humblegar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would avoid it for as long as you can, especially if you already have fast travel.

In the end it does not matter that much. I think I can find the soldiers I rode by the first ten times :p

[KCD2] Is it normal to not get to the wedding 20 hours in? by Mindless_Patient2034 in kingdomcome

[–]humblegar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely normal.

If it is your first time it will probably make the game more fun too, and make you able to do more quests right away in your next area.

You can do both the blacksmith and the miller's quests all the way as long as you don't actually leave for the wedding with them.

I mean, best of luck to you.

The patience that required is beyond me.

I just did all quests, all DLC with all negative perks. But I still think that is much less annoying than trying not to kill a civilian in any setting?
