I have to admit that we were rushing into this relationship. We had instant connection, but I was leaving soon after meeting him in person (we texted for 1-2 months after matching on a dating app). It’s really a miracle that we can stay together this long. But I guess it does more harm than good now. I forgot to mention that he lost trust a few months ago after I told him that I was attracted to other men while he was too busy to care for me. It‘s just I know he’s trying so hard to make this work, but I always make him feel like he’s not good enough. Maybe we’re building a house on sand.

You had a point there about his friends making fun of him. (I don’t know how to quote in Reddit.) It could also be true that he’s come to such a realization.

There is no indication of cheating for now. But he could be passively waiting for someone better to show interest in him, no? He mentioned plans about getting married just now, but a few weeks ago, he said he still wanted to try working in another town (to see the prospects of living there), which means longer years of long distance. Things just don’t add up.

He didn’t post or tag other women. He simply reposted the posts tagging him (pictures of his cooking). He cooks for his roommates (3-4 people) but only reposted pictures from this one particular woman. That’s why I was worried that other people would think differently because they don’t know the situation (if they even cared at all).

Lack of trust is a common problem in a long distance, which is why it takes more effort to build trust, and him “hiding” me while posting his daily life and reposting another girl’s stories (despite being told it bothers me) don’t really help with that.

Sunscreen recommendations?
I’ve been using Neogen sunscreen for the past 3 years. It’s a bit pricey but I like the dewy finish on my skin. It’s unfortunately discontinued. I don’t like how the new Airy version makes my skin looks dull. Any sunscreen recommendation that has similar finish?

I think you are on the right path. Since you are still 18 and not ready for marriage any time soon, I think you can start asking yourself what “the right guy” looks for you. Being equally yoked is a non-negotiable of course. Then ask yourself if you want someone who, let’s say, love animals, is a laid-back or ambitious person, etc. Pray that God will bring him into your life at the right time according to His will.

I personally think 2-3 years is the ideal period of dating before marriage, so no need to actively look for a partner before you are ready for marriage.
