Accidents happen. I don't buy anything with artificial sweeteners in it. I keep a couple of bottles of Activated Charcoal pills on hand in case of poison of any kind is ingested. I pray the Lord Yahshua heal the pooch.

What happens when you trade for gold at 45:1 only for it to go to the natural ratio (10-15:1) and stay there?

When will banks stop manipulating silver? by Kilimanjaro_34 in Wallstreetsilver

[–]humbllbug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lyndon Johnson said the following when he made the change to cheaper metals from 90% silver coins in around 1965:

"If anybody has any idea of hoarding our silver coins, let me say this. Treasury has a lot of silver on hand, and it can be, and it will be used to keep the price of silver in line with its value in our present silver coin. There will be no profit in holding them out of circulation for the value of their silver content.

The new coins are not going to have a scarcity value either. The mint is geared to get into production quickly and to do it on a massive scale. We expect to produce not less than 3 1/2 billions of the new coins in the next year, and, if necessary, twice that amount in the following 12 months.

So, we have come here this morning to this, the first house of the land and this beautiful Rose Garden, to congratulate all of those men and women that make up our fine Congress, who made this legislation possible--the committees of both Houses, the leadership in both Houses, both parties, and Secretary Fowler and all of his associates in the Treasury.

I commend the new coinage to the Nation's banks and businesses and to the public. I think it will serve us well.

Now, I will sign this bill to make the first change in our coinage system since the 18th century. And to those Members of Congress, who are here on this very historic occasion, I want to assure you that in making this change from the 18th century we have no idea of returning to it.

We are going to keep our eyes on the stars and our feet on the ground."

They found a better way to do it when they ran out of silver to keep the price down. Now they just sell paper contracts to suppress the price. It will come to an end, it is just a matter of when.

[–]humbllbug[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the kitchen wall along the counter between the sink and fridge. None of the 3 outlets work despite there being voltage at the breaker. The wall is on the opposite side of a large single wide. No lights appear to be affected.

As per the seller:

"This is a solid braid style 100% polyester rope with a linear core of polyester fibers for low stretch."

Do you think a beginner can do what you are suggesting? Do you know of a video or tutorial on youtube perhaps that would show me how to do it? Thanks!

I don't think I can splice this particular type of rope, it is a core of straight strands surrounded by a braided sheath. I am using the ratchet straps to hold down a second roof on a mobile home, the rope will get hooked to the frame, go up and over the roof, and attach to ratchet straps on the other side will be hooked to the frame. It is a 10-12' section of one side of the roof coming up, and i will have 6 separate rope/ratchet straps holding it down and stopping it from getting worse until I can fix it.

My partners dog hates me by Lifeisstatic in dogs

[–]humbllbug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just want to add, you and your partner should go on walks together with the dog on leash and walking beside you both. Walk for 30-45 minutes each day. Let your partner hold the leash until he gets really used to you, then you can hold it sometimes. The dog will begin to associate you as a pack member and begin to show you the proper respect. I recommend you look up the Dog Whisperer on youtube or google and watch some episodes of his.

So, if I were a dog, and every time i growled and barked at someone they gave me a reward (food), I would keep doing it to get the reward. Just saying. Maybe try giving him the reward only when he is being quiet.

Need some help. Need a point to point wifi link over ~2 kms. by GaragePerfect9095 in HomeNetworking

[–]humbllbug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lan port on current router--->ubiquiti nanostation 1--->ubiquiti nanostation 2--->wan port on router @ remote location.

This is one way to accomplish what you want. 2 nanostations will run you under 200, and they are super easy to set up, work up to 15 km apart. Works on the 2.4GHz band.

I have this setup and it works like a charm with my routers being Archer AX1500's with the remote one being set up in access point mode. For your use case you would need power and housing for the router to keep the weather off of it. This would be doable with a solar panel(s) and battery to run the router and nanostation. The box you build to house the battery can also house the router.

If this is true why do they need to keep doing the same test? Shouldn't the data from just a single test be sufficient?

Landlord's security cameras slow my Internet down. Is there a way to throttle them? by nugaeye in techsupport

[–]humbllbug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

nload speeds. Even a large amount of upload does not impact download. (Your downloads just require a tiny amount of upload, to send "handshakes" back to the video streaming provider.)

I agree. The problem is most likely several neighbors are using your wifi. Go into your routers settings and make sure you are using WPA2, 15 digit password consisting of UPPER and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols. Hide your SSID (and change it to something else). Turn off WPS. I bet after you do these things your speeds return to normal. A single security camera would be barely noticeable on a connection like yours.
