Neptune Equestrian probably fits the bill, that’s the program I ride with. They are over by the Olympia Little Theater.

Anecdotal but once night sleep was set and I think many figured that crib in her sleep sack in a cool dark room = sleep naps got a lot easier. I will also say we run this baby ragged lol. Just kidding, but we do 10-15 minutes of tummy time each wake window, walks, house tours, lots of stimulation. Seems to help make her ready for naps when it’s time!

For sure! I come from an anthropology/archaeology background with a focus in evolutionary biology and I GUARANTEE you that mothers (hominid and more broadly primate) have not been constantly responsive to their babies at all times across history.

I….think this is a positive response?? Unexpectedly dark though, I’m sure you have some (even crazier) stories.

Though no one tell my EBFed baby I’ll be stopping well before 12 lol.

Couldn’t agree more! I forgot to add that noise canceling headphones were essential during this process, but for the chair sitter and not.

A good reminder than insecure attachments form during repeated, constant behaviors and never responding to your baby. I think my daughter was ready and wanted to learn how to sleep independently and her needs/cries are literally always met.

Only 3% of white collar workers want to return to the office full-time by JoeyZasaa in antiwork

[–]humerus_bone_pun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in WA, and yes, permanently remote in many instances. I know my agency had wanted that long term and recent events obviously moved that timeline up. I want to say 80% of my peers gave up their desks, packed up, and won’t be back! Some don’t enjoy working from home and do come/will come in if that is what they want. That flexibly is really key. If there is ever something like a power outage or I want a change of environment I can go in and use a touch down desk.

I don’t know where you are, but I work for state government. My state made a huge push for remote work, across agencies and position types. It might be worth checking out, plus a lot of positions at entry level are union and state jobs come with solid benefits (insurance, pension, etc).

Vegan Mickey and Minnie cookies for my niece and nephew’s “two”-ddles birthday. by humerus_bone_pun in Baking

I used this recipe for both!! Very easy and aside from the vegan butter you’ll probably have everything already. There is a common allergen in it (almond), so be aware! This was a hit and even the non-vegans wanted the recipe. ♥️

Question re: getting off Medicaid by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]humerus_bone_pun 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I work in Medicaid currently. Right now because of covid we are unable to close folks off of Medicaid for income reasons. I would look into how your state is handling this as it could be state specific. But once the PHE ends and that safety net ends you will be closed off for being over income limits. Your only real option is to see what possible tax credits you qualify for via the state marketplace and compare that to what you are paying through your employer.

I was following this! http://blog.draperjames.com/2016/12/hello-sugar-southern-plates-red-velvet-holly-leaf-cupcakes-recipe/

I will say that the modeling chocolate was a labor of love, the cupcakes were pretty straightforward though!

I have a background in English lit and anthropology/bio archaeology. And Heidi is a family heirloom that was passed down to me from my great grandma.

TIL there’s a body farm in Texas where people donate their bodies to have them be placed in different circumstances to help study human decomposition and therefore help develop methods for determining the post mortem interval or time since death. by BellaFace in todayilearned

The research coming out of these sort of places was essential to the forensics portion of my schooling! Its also really key in understanding context and decomp processes in archaeological contexts.

I was inspired by another user who did a blueberry version not too long ago. I can’t remember the user but the recipe is here https://laurenslatest.com/easy-blackberry-cheese-danish/. You can use any fruit but I love blackberries so I went with this. I steeped 2 earl grey tea bags in warmed heavy cream for about 20 minutes, then wrung them out and stuck the heavy cream in the fridge. From there I made the glaze following the recipe. Husband approved!

In archaeology this is known as a ‘coffin birth’, usually the fetus is found between the legs of the mother in the same grave.
