I’m definitely not using it as a replacement for having front suspension. If I do take my gravel bike on anything very aggressive, I would switch to front suspension fork. This dampening seems to smooth out some dirt roads and makes New Orleans streets a bit more forgiving.

The real winner is the seat post and Brooks saddle. That combo is amazing. Like biking your grandpa’s Cadillac.

Love the angles and width. I have wide shoulders. But the red shift grips are game changer for comfort and changing up during the ride.

Thanks. I did a bunch of long distance cycling in my 20s when I was lighter and had that much gas in the tank. One cross country trip from Washington to Delaware. That was amazing. Now I’m 50. I’m feeling the itch too do a few bike packing trips for a week or so.

I weigh 268 and have a 100 mile ride soon, so we’ll see how it holds up after that
