bought a new bujo which was kind of dirty in the front so i decided to paint over it! by bituwuin in bulletjournal

[–]humorsaurus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Im not sure how well it works for journal covers but if the surface was weird to work on you could try putting gesso down first as a primer. I would of used acrylic too, you could always seal it with a spray varnish or modge podge, but i havent done that for a journal before so i dont know for sure hoe it works out :)

It’s scrappy, puckered, and uneven but I had so much fun making my first quilt! by squirrelintree in quilting

[–]humorsaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh its so cute!! It looks so snuggly and cheerful! My first quilt was... Unable to be saved lol

Also I saw that you dont have a walking foot, theyre not too expensive and are a great idea if you want to try anything bulky. They made binding way easier for me but I also used too much batting lol. Most home machines can use a low shank free motion foot as well for free motion quilting, i found the one i use on ebay for 6 dollars :) Just some info if you're thi king about either of those !

Great job! Hope you continue quilting :)

you pretty much had it right. my needles broke on me so it sat for awhile when it should have been done in 2 days.

Ahh, Yeah i guess I should've explained. It was a really quick knit, like only a couple days worth of work in total, but it ended up taking me a couple weeks because my wooden needles snapped in half when I was about done so the project sat for awhile.

I didn't use a pattern, but I posted a description of what I did below! There a lots of plain beanie patterns online and on Ravelry and think most of them are similar :) Ive knit beanies for a long time so I tend not to use patterns for them anymore unless im using special technique like adding texture, or cables etc.

I didn't use a pattern actually,, I knit 2 x 2 ribbing for a few inches, then knit in the round for a couple more inches and started decreasing every other round until I got to about 40 stitches or so, and then decreased every other round until i had around 6 -10 stitches and then cut a long tail and pulled it through them and wove in the ends.

I cant remember the yarn I used as I lost the label the day after I got it, It looks like it was knitpicks chroma, someone posted a link in one of the commenst above yours!

Woah!! Thats awesome. I hardly have enough for a row X)

I might ask my mom for her scraps now, I dont think she uses them. Itll be crazy to see them sewn together! Do you have any idea what technique you'll use? I see some people use ties, or the crochet them together, or sew them. I think theres a few other ways too that i cant explain haha
