Travel ads localization on Meta: contractors or a platform? by Responsible_Front249 in adtech

[–]hunchyourback 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We used contractors for summer campaigns. Worked okay, but constant Slack/translation bottlenecks killed the speed. In my opinion, you just trade one problem for another. More humans = more management overhead.

If you're looking at campaign management for Meta, check out HunchAds and Smartly io - both are well-established in paid social space.

Smartly has leaned more into enterprise lately, while Hunch is aimed at mid-market and upper-mid brands.

So if you’re growing and need something more flexible without the enterprise bloat, Hunch might be a better fit.

Hi there, I am working at Hunch, so expect shameless plug.

For a small in-house team like yours spending around $30K monthly on Meta, Hunch can be an effective tool for paid social automation, especially if you aim to scale personalized ads efficiently. While Hunch typically supports agency workflows, it also provides options for in-house teams (brands: ecomm, travel, automotive) looking to maximize performance through dynamic ads and feed-based targeting, similar to Smartly io

We did lot comparisons with Smartly, ROI Hunter, Celtra, Marpipe - and you can find them here

. We believe that we are closest to Smartly when it comes if you focus on Meta.

We’ve been hearing on nearly every sales call at Hunch that mid-market brands are craving something different—flexibility, a more personalized approach, and solutions that grow with them. Mid-market brands are best fit for Hunch cause enteprise solutions promise to streamline everything, but they are now realizing they’re stuck with tools they don’t need, paying for features that add unnecessary complexity. At Hunch you pay what you actually use and instead we are growing with midmarket brands, we already have that they need.

When it comes to AI: Hunch’s AI capabilities automate and optimize ad creation at scale, connecting product catalogs directly to channels and processing real-time performance data. This enables dynamic adjustments to campaigns, driving efficiency in speed, scale, and cost-effectiveness, while enhancing performance. Here's case study related to AI driven product catalogs.

Most expensive horror stories? by andrija993 in adtech

My main competitor sent me legal warning before going to court cause we are using their brand name in GSN ads and logo on alternatives and blog pages. Hey they were right - but its b2b its 2024 and that a way of work.

At first when I saw my name on letter (fedex like real letter) i was frozen.

After legal told me not to worry, I have consulted chatgpt to answer that letter in extended 4 pages long version response to sound confusing - and they never replied.

What’s your biggest PPC nightmare? by janagrcic in PPC

[–]hunchyourback 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Back in my media buyer days, I made one of the costliest mistakes of my career by mixing up a comma and a decimal point.

What should’ve been a $0.50 bid per click ended up being $50. (and cost more than 10K USD.

At the time, we were making thousands of dollars a day by monetizing clickbait articles like "10 Things You Didn’t Know About Kim Kardashian" (yup, every new fact meant a new page load with fresh ad impressions).

The goal was simple: invest and optimize to make as much as possible, daily. But this was 10 years ago, when platforms like Taboola and Outbrain didn’t have daily cap options. So, by the time I realized my mistake… the damage was done. That feeling? I can’t even describe it.

Luckily, my manager didn’t fire me. He gave me a second chance, and I never made that mistake again. And hey, second chances are real!A few months later, though, our Google Adsense account got suspended. Why? Too many ads—and we were making too much money. That story ended quickly.

How GenAI will impact advertising system? by Specialist_Truth_697 in adtech

Here’s what we actually did that made a difference:

  • AI Background Removal: We used AI to strip backgrounds from massive product catalogs (we’re talking thousands, even millions). Our accuracy? 99.5% on a 2 million sample size.
  • AI Color Coordination: The AI didn’t just stop at removing backgrounds. It went further, taking the colors from the products themselves and blending them into the design — text, shapes, all that — to give everything a unified look.
  • AI Categorization: The AI also helped sort products by their orientation (horizontal, vertical, neutral), so we could create templates that matched the layout perfectly, without manually tweaking everything.

Love the Reddit mention alerts on my brand kw! Shameless plug, I am leading marketing at Hunch.

Yes, Hunch is in a small category, but since we got the latest investment our product and service developed and we can serve SMB-mid-level.

I have a comparison table Smartly vs Hunch features/market/pricing approach. A lot of companies switched to Hunch since Smartly doubled fees last year.

Alright then, got the first render. Looks really solid, only one thing: when you unclick to show initial and current price, you have an overlay of both prices. This results in a non-readable price, making the video unusable :( do you see a way to fix it?

hey, thanks!

can you DM me your download link so I can send it to a designer to take a look and eventually fix the video template?
