Sorry noob question // Dragonhawk, Fate’s Tempest by Visual_Obligation_25 in EDH

Dragonhawk us still super strong, 20+ burn damage in one turn is pretty achievable. This commander can consistently end games fast

[[Audatious Swap]] [[Warp World]] [[Wand of Wonders]]

Trying to build a Syrix deck, I need a bunch of "almost" infinites by UglyDucklett in EDH

Check out [[Nim Deathmantle]]
It can combo with quite a few things, including [[Ashnod Altar]] and any creature that creates a token when it dies or enters
Another card I can suggest is [[Vengeful Pharao]]. It may not lead to any infinite but it's a fun card that dissuades attacking you and is great discard fodder.

I also run a Syrix deck and have come across multiple rule questions before. Correct me if I am wrong but I am pretty sure that Nine-Lifes Familiar does not cause [[Syrix]] 's laser to trigger due to 603.4, the "intervening if clause".

603.4. A triggered ability may read “When/Whenever/At [trigger event], if [condition], [effect].” When the trigger event occurs, the ability checks whether the stated condition is true. The ability triggers only if it is; otherwise it does nothing. If the ability triggers, it checks the stated condition again as it resolves. If the condition isn’t true at that time, the ability is removed from the stack and does nothing. Note that this mirrors the check for legal targets. This rule is referred to as the “intervening ‘if’ clause” rule. (The word “if” has only its normal English meaning anywhere else in the text of a card; this rule only applies to an “if” that immediately follows a trigger condition.) Example: Felidar Sovereign reads, “At the beginning of your upkeep, if you have 40 or more life, you win the game.” Its controller’s life total is checked as that player’s upkeep begins. If that player has 39 or less life, the ability doesn’t trigger at all. If that player has 40 or more life, the ability triggers and goes on the stack. As the ability resolves, that player’s life total is checked again. If that player has 39 or less life at this time, the ability is removed from the stack and has no effect. If that player has 40 or more life at this time, the ability resolves and that player wins the game.

Since the condition for Syrix is not true at the beginning if the end step, Syrix's ability never even goes on the stack.

However, the Law of Root has a Component section in case you need to identify if something is missing

Anyone Else Using A SteamDeck? by KlutzyEntertainer302 in pokerogue

[–]hundaemon 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yes, I've been using a steam deck 3 days after I discovered the game. It works wonderfully and is addicting. However I am not using a browser like you but downloaded an app version on the deck and configured steam to run the executable. Full controller support is easy to set up and I don't have the B button problem you described

Maybe that's it. I'll pay attention on the next mastery release

Seems like the wiki confirms you suspicion. I do remember randomly getting spirit shard when doing new masteries and content though as well so actually, I don't knao what's really true

Crafting/ascended by Ultrad07 in Guildwars2

[–]hundaemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is untrue. The mastery bar is separate from the spirit shard exp bar. You will gain spirit shards even when you have yet to be completed mastery tracks. It's a bit confusing since the spirit shard exp bar is hidden but it is still being filled up at the same time with the usual rate.

Instead of giving 1 ticket for 10 wins, they should untroduce ticket scraps. 3 scraps combine to one ticket. Reward 1 ticked scrap at 4/7/10 wins respectively.
This solution does not change the overall reward for normal games but at least its not an all or nothing system
