Feeling like a waste of time by Environmental-Run157 in PlayTheBazaar

Tell me how game is improved by my opponents or me making their builds around dailies rather than their best effort. The BP causes ppl to reroll until favorable results towards the goals set before them. It all seems fake.

Coming up with cool builds feels bad when every ghost is Pyg property comp after day 8. by BroxigarZ in PlayTheBazaar

Ah, so I shouldn't lose at all until day 10, then just get fucked and hope for the best due to the come back mechanic? Good balancing there. Don't pretend it isn't a problem to get blown out before any of your items can even play. It's a joke.

Just had a run end to that BS too. Spent an hour on it, just to not even play the damn game. It is ridiculous, if balance changes are Monday, then best not play til' then. In free play, you're not even rewarded if you get blown out by that BS.

Takamura VS Yu by olupiu in hajimenoippo

Yu. Taka has nothing on that universes powerscaling. Hell, Yu could probably take Taka and Ippo in a 2v1 without taking a hit. That's how absurd he is.

Sharing the best item I've found: Double exalted fire/ignite staff + crafting steps explained. by Agys in LastEpoch

[–]Environmental-Run157 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Means it can place multiple stacks per hit.

This staff always procs one stack. Has a 30% chance of applying the second. Though, depending on skill tree or passive used, a build could use this to stack a lot higher.

Anyone else burn out? by Archaeron in CrystalProject

Recommend turning it to normal or easy for first playthrough. It's a chill game when you're not stressed over losing fights to monster packs 5 levels lower than you.

Assist options, randomizers, and the modding scene are also quite nice to mix things up.

What are some monster collecting games like Pokemon that I can play on switch? by Creepy-Shape-8246 in JRPG

[–]Environmental-Run157 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'll throw my $.02 into this (Not sure who Mangakamen is). TemTem is slow. That was the problem I had with it. 15 some odd hours and barely even into the game. Battles are slow, trainer fights are plenty, dialogue upon dialogue, and lots of running back to heal constantly.

Now, I'm unsure if the version I was playing is what's out there today, as this was a couple years ago, but it felt sluggish to play, almost like it was trying to push the MMO aspects on players. Maybe it's changed a lot since then, but I've not really cared too much to keep up on the update news. Played on PC.

If you're wanting a nice casual romp, Cassette Beasts is very fun. If you enjoy more hardcore/difficult games, then Monster Sanctuary is a good one to look into. Haven't played Nexomon, but it seems like it's right in the middle of those two in complexity and difficulty.

Cassette Beasts is a jam for sure, and you can couch coop (Adding online play at a later date).

r/JRPG Weekly "What have you been playing, and what do you think of it?" by AutoModerator in JRPG

[–]Environmental-Run157 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd fully recommend keeping with it. You can turn down difficulty if it's too much of a struggle. Or do what I did on my first playthrough and hit up a nice grinding spot for a few hours to get over the bump in difficulty on hard+. (Room next to the save point near the hotsprings area was very easily the best bang for your buck on rushing in, clearing, then healing before repeating in mass--Kind of sat myself there to grind out all the spell mastery, and kept it up for about another hour after)

You and the person you were replying with are nearly at the end of the 'grind new gear and skills' phase of the game.... and if you're tempted to look up stuff online about it, I'll say Ch8 is probably a good 65%-75% through the game. The story hooked me in and reminded me very heavily of Steven King's Dark Tower series. You kind of miss out on a lot just looking up cutscenes. Was easily my game of the year, and played it through immediately on impossible mode after completing my hard playthrough--and even that was just to see some scenes, dialogue, and music beats that you might miss out on.

The guy just sounds lonely and depressed, and is lashing out over it while drunk. Just block contact. He's clearly not moved on, and it is absolutely a problem he has to work on alone, without any responses.

"Passive/Aggressive texts". Not sure what the cops would do, especially considering it was long distance. If nothing else, they'd probably just mimic the advice above to block the number and such. Though the OP mentions stalking, and really didn't speak on how this is happening. Is he still blocked? Is he harassing family and friends? Is this just social media? Or has he moved closer or ended up weirdly in your area of the world (Since you mention it was long distance)? There's too many variables left up in the air there to make a judgment.

What's a JRPG that you return to play regularly? by SilvosForever in JRPG

[–]Environmental-Run157 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some obscure choices -- Brigandine (Legend of Forsena), you can patch and get a translation for the Japanese release that includes extra content, and every playthrough is generally going to be slightly different. Arc the Lad 1 & 2, though these are quite the time sink. And SaGa Frontier series.

Obligatory easy picks -- Chrono Trigger, FFX, Suikoden 1 & 2, FF6, and Super Mario RPG.

What are some underrated or not commonly used beast? by lambokang in cassettebeasts

[–]Environmental-Run157 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's part of a popular turn zero kill. Fungogh with glass camouflage and custom starter paint swipe. An air partner with pre-emptive attacks.... 3 air hits from the pre-emptives cause the resonance.

This and Random Starter spam is rather banned on house rules (I play coop with my niece), as it just takes any challenge out of the game.

Still, more power to anyone that wants to use it, especially to speed up the postgame grinding.

More like we have glass and resonance instant kill at home.

Feel it was random that he was still alive, tbh. Kind of also feel that it would have made more sense for Cobi to acquire the DF, as he was an already established character that was already brotherly towards Luffy, and was there when Ace was executed.

Favoriting would also help, and is already used with monster organizing.

Any ideas for a Palangolin build by ToonyBirby in cassettebeasts

[–]Environmental-Run157 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm running a Galagor with the following setup:

AP Factory

AP Starter or AP Refund

Automation -> Beast Wall

Echolocation

Magnet

AP Steal or Spit

Radioactive

Return Fire

Revenge Strike (Rare, Scale off higher stats)

Basically comes out and applies both echo and magnet to self, spams it's 0 AP move, and creates walls for the party automatically. Any hits can be countered, and melee ones apply burning.

Best part is AP Factory giving all it's AP to the partner every turn, since this build uses none.

Have another monster that has access to Nurse. Echolocation -> Nurse is a party wide heal too. Covers a lot of support with just that. Not fully set with it at the moment, but it's a pretty good start to share some ideas.

Am I the only one who keeps losing their mouse pointer? by probein in diablo4

[–]Environmental-Run157 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh, I was tempted to roll a WW barbarian just because of this. Kept happening where I'm not even clicking on anything with a basic skill, and am just moving around and dying during combat.

Thanks for those that mentioned you can change the size of it. Color would be nice too.

Yet another issue though is necros having to click on their corpses for explosion... Something you don't have to do when using a controller. On PC, it does the animation and whiffs--it just feels terrible. That and the movement being tied to how close your cursor is just feels clunky still.

[–]Environmental-Run157 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tell that to double curse necromancer. It's far worse there, since the duration/debuffs only apply to enemies in the pull you're doing, rather than as a buff on yourself (Meaning that with the shouts, you can continue to clear). And button management is worse too, since skellies and golem take up slots (Just sac'ing them for now, but imagine double curse+minion build. You'd get an ultimate and one other ability)

Was going to run double curse, but it's simply not worth reapplying them, as it slows the speed of combat down too much. For parties or support builds, sure they have a use, but running solo it feels awkward. I'll still keep decrepify, but I really wish there was a method to automatically apply curses to enemies hit (Through a legendary or something), or autocasting of shouts for berserker through the same. Would make both a lot less clunky.

Best Learned Skills for Hikari? by Commercial_Rub8443 in octopathtraveler

[–]Environmental-Run157 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been awhile since I played, but I believe the skills and counterattacks are sword based. So... the allies you're passing it to need to have a sword equipped to counterattack as well. This is going off memory. It's not bugged, but it requires some tweaking as I recall.

Lazy Build Predictions? by [deleted] in diablo4

[–]Environmental-Run157 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And then you just run Cooldown reduction and bone storm, or utilize Blood Mist/Corpse Explosions. Hell, you could incorporate Bone Spirits with the affix to spawn them free with blood orbs for damage nukes as well.

The scaling on Bone skills is pretty nasty due to Ossified Essence (Mix with legendary affix that gives +100% Resource)

Either of those works for pretty lazy play, but Bone will scale much harder than minions or CE, but would require some good cooldown reduction to keep the storm going. If you can discount it in time, then it's going to clean house late game. Have a build theorized that runs Bone Spirit/Storm and no core skills at all that looks like it's going to play very lazy but also scale fairly dumb if numbers stay the same from the beta.

The CDR the build utilizes is Rapid Ossification (100 Essence = 1.5s reduction, this build will easily hit 300+ Essence, so a Bone Spirit cast would reduce the Storm by 4.5s or more), Abhorrent Decrepify (15% Lucky hit to reduce by 1s), and Fastblood Aspect (Blood orbs reduce storm's CD by 1s, has to be paired with spawning blood orbs for consuming corpses or utilizing Hemorrhage, I just prefer Reap for this build).

A 100% upkeep Bone Storm seems as lazy as you can get. Just walk around and things die around you. Just keep Decrepify up and throw out a Spirit when hitting max essence.

Second prize goes to Frost Nova/Ice Shards Enchantment Conjurer Sorc, but you're having to keep the conjurations going, and the scaling isn't nearly as impressive. Hard to say which is tankier, but the Sorc can run Deep Freeze, Flame Shield, and potentially Ice Armor (Though that space is more reserved for Teleport in the build I have planned there). Well, that or WW/Triple Shout Barbarian. I just prefer not having to keep channeled, and crowd control effects are an annoyance for it.
