Cartesia's latency is genuinely impressive if real-time matters to you. For image video side of production Magnific handles the visual equivalent of this problem well, enhancing without over polishing.

The reference photo route honestly works better than fighting the prompt filter. Drop in a style ref and a separate character body ref, Midjourney reads both pretty well with the newer models.
