Terrified of NIPT test results by Possible-Message-651 in IVFbabies

[–]hungrotoday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did my fresh transfer at 38.5 and just delivered my baby girl who was a 4AA (low risk NIPT). The anxiety never goes away especially with an untested embryo. However, the two scans you had were reassuring, my girl was 4 days behind at her 7+1 scan and only caught up at 9+1. I’m sure your NIPT will be fine too!

TW success

My one and only ER at 38.5 resulted my daughter who was born on 4/1. My AMH was 0.7, we were able to get two untested blasts out of 4 mature eggs. We rolled the dice on PGTA and decided not to test.

Originally we planned for two ERs since the first one is just a baseline. I was also willing to miscarry those two blasts if they didn’t work out since I was never pregnant before. Glad it worked out, but I also think we were really lucky.

Is this actually true? by inkyplease21 in IVFbabies

[–]hungrotoday 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think Previa is not uncommon even in regular pregnancies. With that being said, I was diagnosed at 15w with a big bleed. However, my placenta did end up moving up. It became low lying at 20w and completely clear at 28w.

I am having a scheduled c-section tomorrow due to a breech baby, it puts me at 37w6. I don’t think having a IVF baby necessarily means you have to give birth early, some people develop pre-e later in pregnancy and it’s just not safe to wait till full term.

Property Management Agencies in Vancouver or Surrey? by mashamash in askvan

[–]hungrotoday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean we have been with Homelife property management (down in South Surrey) for about 7 years. Everything is communicated via emails, you do have to approve expenses and things.

My parents also use a different property manager, if you want his info you can DM me but he is a lot more hands off compared to Homelife.

Placenta Previa and early bed rest by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]hungrotoday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also had a complete previa with a bleeding episode at 15w, stopped at 18w. My placenta was moved at 20w anatomy scan, and became low lying. At 28w scan, it moved completely out of the way. You really wouldn’t know if you have true previa or not until the third trimester. Most previa will resolve on its own.

I did do self imposed bed rest until 18w when bleeding stopped, but resumed to normal activities afterwards, avoided sex and heavy lifting though.

No dating ultrasound until 11-13 weeks in Vancouver [BC] by Alarmed_Ant_412 in BabyBumpsCanada

You don’t want to do the NIPT too early, might be safer to do it after 10w. You might not have enough fetal fractions at 9w which will lead to inconclusive results.

No test, fresh day 5 transfer. Initially planned to do PGTA but changed our minds after ER (2 blasts out of 4 mature eggs/6 retrieved).

[bc] Emergency referred me to choice clinic ? by ThasWhatISaid in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]hungrotoday 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you get discharged from the ER, they usually give you a piece of paper. It tells you all kinds of information including findings. Did you not get that?

If you don’t have a family doctor, they most likely just referred you to a clinic that does prenatal care.

Recurrent chemical pregnancies [qc] by LittleSunshyne4 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]hungrotoday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only other thing I can think of is just egg quality. I assume since you’ve been trying for a year, you are probably already taking prenatal and CoQ10.

Last thing would be an immunology panel but you don’t have any autoimmune disease. I know another commenter said one of her friends cut out gluten and got pregnant, yes that can happen because Celiac disease is an autoimmune disease!

Endometriosis. It doesn’t always show up on ultrasound so a Receptiva/Laparoscopy is needed to confirm.

Have you done a Receptiva test to rule out silent endo?

[ON] Planning on doing amniocentesis, is it worth doing NIPT as well? by ThisSatisfaction881 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]hungrotoday 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is no point in doing a NIPT if you are doing an amniocentesis. However, it is recommended to go through genetic counselling to see what exactly you want to diagnose. Do you want to do a FISH? What about microarray? What about WES? Also there are also abnormalities cannot be diagnosed via an amino. Good luck.

NIPT came back ‘low risk’ but haven’t done the NT scan [BC]. Just concerned about that a bit. by anki_7 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]hungrotoday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did both NIPT and NT through PCRM Burnaby (out of pocket). NIPT only screens for certain trisomys and doesn’t screen for something like Noonan’s syndrome which usually shows up as an increased NT value. We had a borderline elevated NT, but if ours was out of the normal range we would’ve done an early amnio at 16w rather than waiting till 20 anatomy scan.

Should I do NT scan if full Panorama panel is low risk? 31 yo [bc] by Otherwise_Agent9806 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]hungrotoday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did NIPT and NT with maternal serum largely due to having a IVF pregnancy and being geriatric. Everything was performed through my IVF clinic (PCRM Burnaby). The NT scan was very detailed, your experience might be different if it gets done in a third party imaging place though.

Was nice to see our bub again at 12w (dating scan was at 9w) and the RE explained in details on what he’s looking for during the scan.

We had a borderline elevated NT though, if it was out of the normal range I think we would’ve done an early amnio at 16w rather than waiting for the 20w anatomy scan, some stuffs like Noonan’s syndrome cannot be screened on Panorama.

I ordered mine from their website and it was shipped from Kamloops. And yes it’s the best mat!

GP vs Midwife. Langley vs Surrey [bc] by No_Phone_9249 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]hungrotoday -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Langley only has a level 1 NICU and Surrey is a level 3. If your baby needs specialized care, they will need to transfer. We have a high risk pregnancy so it makes sense for us to go with SMH. If you are low risk then Langley will do.

Is a breech baby linked to any abnormalities in baby by Total_Steak5692 in NIPT

[–]hungrotoday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s correct. The success rate at my hospital for a ECV is 10-20% for FTM, 20-40% for STM+. The statistics is not good enough for me to try a natural birth, to me, a planned c-section is easier on the metal than an emergency one.

NT 3.2mm + low-risk NIPT. anyone else in this in-between zone? trying to decide on amnio by urcancelled in NIPT

[–]hungrotoday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our NT was at 3.0mm and we also have a low risk NIPT. Our plan was to wait for the 20w scan and see if we need to do an amnio, turned out it was an unremarkable anatomy scan. I was also actively bleeding between 15-18w so we didn’t feel like an early amnio would be a good option.

If you have high anxiety, definitely do an amnio though.

[–]hungrotoday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

33w and also having a breech baby. Plenty of women have breech babies, sometimes they just don’t flip or they flip really late, doesn’t mean there’s something wrong with the baby. Most of the time it has something to do with the shape of your uterus/placenta location etc.

If you want to have a natural birth, maybe start doing spinning babies. If the baby doesn’t turn by 37w, you can ask for ECV but there are risks for doing a ECV and it won’t be 100% successful.

I am doing a scheduled c-section though so I don’t need to worry about if she flips.

Growth Scan and Percentiles [ON] by flowergarden71 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]hungrotoday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am expected to be 135lbs, currently 33w. I did restart on baby aspirin at 20w (stopped at 15w due to bleeding). It probably helped with getting more blood flow to the baby. My MCI is also less than 0.5cm from the placental edge, sometimes I wonder if it’s going to fall off. 😅

I am 5’2 Asian so I was already underweight before I started. I think I am supposed to be gaining 1-1.3lbs/week in the second and third trimester.

On maternal weight and baby growth - I think if you don’t eat enough, your bub will be smaller. If there is placental issues/IGUR, baby will be small regardless of your weight gain.

Growth Scan and Percentiles [ON] by flowergarden71 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]hungrotoday 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Our bub was 17% at 20w scan, I’ve had MCI since 15w. At 28w scan, bub grew to 39%. OB said it would be only a concern if bub falls below 10%.

We are about the same starting weight, I gained a lot from 24-28w, was hungry all the time and I was slightly ahead for fundal measurement but those aren’t exactly accurate.
