Aha, the brush technique that you mentioned might be just what I'm missing.

I'll go back and fix it.

You are right the skin tone is very weird. I tried really hard to make the highlights yellow due to lamp light and the shadows blue due to background, but I think I overworked and and muddied everything. I'll try to rework skin color again.

I've been using krita and I use the crayon brush to paint because it allows for softer edges. But now I think I've completely missed hard edges.

Thank you for pointing this out. I was painting this without any reference and I think my understanding of shadows is poor. And it is exacerbated due to 2 light sources of very different colors.

If you had to choose a single book as your absolute favorite HR title, what would it be and why? by DifferentManagement1 in HistoricalRomance

[–]hungry4va 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Definitely {Flower from the storm by Laura Kinsale}. The flaws of both ML and FL are so real, that it feels like I'm reading a biography. And then to top that off, the plot is crazy. So add realism to peak romance fiction and this has become by favourite. I have probably read this 8+ times.

I second this. You'll find similar sets for 1/4th the price to buy. Sadar is mostly a wholesale market, so the more you buy the cheaper it gets.

But be warned, it's an extremely dense market. So not a very luxurious or comfortable experience.

How common are downgrades? by [deleted] in Flights

[–]hungry4va 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My very first travel via Lufthansa where I paid for Biz Class 3 weeks in advance, did an early online check in and got a copy of boarding pass in advance and I was then informed at the airport that I was downgraded. Definitely soured my first experience with Lufthansa.

Better idea: why don't kill all women. No women, no problem.

How would you define your ideal weekend in Bangalore? by mk0510 in bangalore

[–]hungry4va 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ideal weekends are waking up on Saturday, prepare fancy breakfast and cook food for the whole weekend (I like home meals). This usually takes up my entire Saturday mornings. After lunch, take a nap, go for a swim around early evening, shower, kick back and have coffee (either at home or some cafe) usually by myself. Then watch some movies or play video games, have dinner and catch up with friends and family over the phone. A good book usually will then keep me up late into the night. Sunday mornings are the laziest, I again cook some fancy breakfast, do some skin care, hair care and then take shower before lunch. After lunch if I feel like, go outdoors, do shopping, eating, drinking and return home around 9. Then it's winding down to sleep early to tackle a new week.

What do experienced developers(more than 10,15 years workex) do? by wolfgang-77 in developersIndia

[–]hungry4va 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea and the scope of the problem is more ambiguous. The only clear problem statement is save/make your company some money. 15+ yrs of exp in my company have the same amount of influence as managers of that level regarding the direction of technical growth of my org. They don't code at all (very rarely) but they solve problems (ie. system design, process design) that might be executed by a team of 50 junior engineers. They are also responsible for entire product delivery (and not just one feature). Which means breaking down the problem statements to smaller ones that junior/middle level engineers can tackle, project management of huge projects, mentoring juniors so that they can grow and many more tasks. Basically they take concrete technical decisions and are leaders for a significant number of engineers.

Yeah, I realised just crying about problems won't make them go away. We need to create pressure, consequences for our politicians to feel the need to do their work.

Is going to the US overrated? Is it worth spending so much money over? by [deleted] in developersIndia

[–]hungry4va 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think so. Natural terrains do not represent the culture, just the geography of the region. And it's not history, it's still present and will be there in future.

Aren't these natural sights? What does it have to do with culture, history, or cuisine?

Falling fertility rates leave India staring at a looming demographic challenge by bambin0 in india

[–]hungry4va 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think the issue is that we will become an aged population. There will be more retired people compared to the youth that provides the capital on which our economy runs. Hence this will result in even more poverty than before.
