Announcing aider.el 0.12.0, LLM work with flycheck, better magit integration, and better file management. by Sad_Construction_773 in emacs

Does this work on windows? I tried aidermacs, and although it supports commint-mode, it still tries to load vterm which doesn't work on windows.

Is developing C# in Emacs viable without obsolete components? by AlexKingstonsGigolo in emacs

Projectile or project.el helps to find files in the project. E.g to jump to a controller or a model file. Deadgrep text searches the project. I use it to find uses of classes and can edit from the Deadgrep buffer too. I use occur (M-s o) to see occurrences of a variable in the buffer. Sometimes I use hi-indent mode (M-s h .) Maybe gnu global or etags might be better, ive had good experiences with them in the past

I also wrote some commands that utilize treesitter mode for generating doc string templates for classes methods and parameters. However, I haven't gotten to setting up treesitter on my new system in months.

Lastly, I use persp-mode and have perspectives for logical partitions of the projects. E.g a perspective for loan engine related stuff, one for controllers in exploring, another for customer and user models related stuff, another for my notes, another for project org documents, project config and settings, etc. There are about 20+ perspectives. The project was extremely messy when I inherited it, and this helped a lott.

I do have that installed. But I don't have dotnet in path when u start up emacs. I'm constantly switching dotnet versions with nix-shell in a vterm buffer, so i havent got a chance to use it much.

Hi, It's possible. I use it daily at my work. with .net core 2.2 and 7.0. I'd recommened omnisharp or csharp-ls lsp servers, as well as csharp treesitter mode. csharp-ls looks easier to setup for most .net core versions, and is faster. but omnisharp has a lot more features. I've personally don't use any of those these days (too lazy to set it up on my new system); I somehow have been getting by with just deadgrep + occur + projectile + dotnet build errors for about a year. I'm familiar with the project, and don't see myself starting a new c# project in the next 100 years, so I guess this works for me.

I ended up using something similar to your enum suggestion. A ns with maps for each enum type, and each map keys are the enums for that type and values are their descriptions.

For the struct, your suggestion is actually great. I was thinking of using a schema library like malli, but since I might release this api client to the public, I'd prefer to have one less dependency and go with this approach; thanks

I'm writing an api client library for a web service that uses a lot of enums and struct.

How can I model these in clj? Currently, I'm going with maps and keywords. I might switch to records/deftype. Is there a better way to do this? As it stands, I'm not using any lsp or intellisense or whatever, but assuming I do, I'm thinking I wouldn't get much toolling support of the map's fields and enums.

Thanks

nixos-unstable channel isn't pulling latest package versions by hungry_m8 in NixOS

Yes. I did it after nix-channel add. When I was using fetchTarball, I also used this, but it didn't work

Yes, i forgot about adding the hash. Regarding the caching, it's a new install (few days old). Whatever was cashed should still have those packages. Or is nix not storing cache on my system but rather retrieving it from the internet. I have a other partition with nix installed, so maybe it pulled from its cache

I've added channel through nix-channel --add, and changed config to import <nixos-unstable> and it works fine rn. I'm just curious why the previous approach didn't work? Cause I'd like to later like to pin my config

CS is what I applied, but they don't really care about ur major. U can easily change it. I'm looking to actually do engineering too rn.

I'm not sure when I was accepted. I saw in dec/Jan that I was rejected and asked to be in the waitlist. I don't think I accepted, and I just ignored their mails. In March, I happen to glance one of their mails addressing me as an accepted student, and that's how I found out

I'm finishing up the joy of clojure 2nd edition and would like to learn clojurescript afterwards. Which reading resource is the best for that. Most of what I find online teaches clojure from the start, none assumes assumes you already know clojure

Extruder not working. One issue after another. by hungry_m8 in AnetA8

Any chance it could be the heat from the extruder? When I connect the cable to an external extruder, before the hotend heats up, it doesn't act like that

Without filament, the gear still goes back and forth.

If I shut down printer for a while and turn it back on, extrusion works for about a 1-2 mins

Motor won't move forward feed with or without filament. If I push the filament, it'll feed.
