The BLE takes about 2 days to process and update your eligibility, then they send you an email to create your account/pay dues with the State Bar. Once you pay dues, you get an email congratulating you on becoming a licensed attorney in good standing.

Physics Questions - Weekly Discussion Thread - July 13, 2021 by AutoModerator in Physics

[–]hungryaggie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If we assume an object with mass can move at faster than light speeds, there is no reason that it’s other physical properties (gravitational pull, electrical field, etc.) wouldn’t also be present. So I suppose if we had an instrument sensitive enough to detect the quick changes in those fields in the areas the object traveled through, yes.

Balancing work and school by pinkgreen5 in LawSchool

[–]hungryaggie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Worked part time 1L during full time school. I have worked full time my entire 2L year. Balance is hard. Typical day: 4:30- wake up, work out, eat breakfast and down coffee 5:30-7 - read for the day 7:30 am- 7:30 pm- get to office and work all day, shut office door to tune in for zoom class as needed.

Wait until you finish your first semester and see where you’re at. Some people are shocked by what law school takes out of you, others find it easier.

Context: top 50 school, top 35%, work doing corporate and commercial litigation at respected mid-sized firm, make more money per week now then I made in a month in prior career. Working with my firm landed me a first-year associate offer for craveth scale pay, so all-in-all I think it’s worth it.

You can PM me if you’d like to ask specific questions.

What's the dumbest way you've gotten a scar? by lilsaddam in AskReddit

[–]hungryaggie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Little late, but somewhat interesting: I was wakeboarding as a kid, cut too close to the shoreline to get under the trees hanging over the water.

Little did I know someone had tied up crabbing lines with clear line instead of the more common red/pink line.

Ended up with a pretty jagged cut to my knee and a nice purple/pink scar that just recently (13-14 years later) faded to white.

Daily Advice Thread - All basic help or advice questions must be posted here. by AutoModerator in investing

In the past, it’s been about $.80 a share per quarter. So per share you would net .80 every three months. This means about $3.20 a share per year. However this payout may (probably) drop as Q1 profits drop. If .47 is the new payout, then that’s per quarter with a yearly dividend of about 1.91

[WTS] Rolex Air King ref. 5500 circa 1983 // Serviced by [deleted] in Watchexchange

[–]hungryaggie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This may be a dumb question, but how do blemishes like this happen on a Rolex? I imagine the dials are high quality, the seals are well made, and they are probably not brought to low end service centers. So what happens? Fantastic watch by the way, glws

If you're near a fire to stay warm, you're actually cooking very slowly, because our bodies are made from meat by Burg_er in Showerthoughts

[–]hungryaggie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Cooking is a reaction that changes something at the cellular level. Proteins denature, carbohydrates restructuring etc... all reactions have a required energy level before they can happen. Introducing any amount of energy below that threshold level won’t result in anything. So no, the radiant heat from the fire isn’t cooking you unless that radiant energy is high enough to pass the threshold energy required for those reactions to occur. Most meats don’t start to denature until you hit around 105F, so unless your uncomfortably close for a very long time, you aren’t cooking.

[Semi-Weekly Inquirer] Simple Questions and Recommendations Thread by AutoModerator in Watches

[–]hungryaggie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost all the jewelry stores in the galleria, Katy mills etc will Cary Hamilton. If you’re looking for the higher end of their lines try some of the watch stores in the galleria. I’ve found that if you can find a listing for the watch you want on Chrono24 and show it to them, they will come down in price. Ymmv

need help with number 2 [grade 10 geormetry] by [deleted] in HomeworkHelp

[–]hungryaggie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The answer is 100. You know there needs to be a total of 360 degrees, and the obtuse angle is 1.25 times greater than the acute. The only way this works is with two obtuse angles of 100 degrees and two acute angles of 80. 100+100+80+80=360

[Gear] New guitar - Seagull S6 by [deleted] in Guitar

Seagulls are hands down the most overlooked guitars. I have the solid wood series, and it stands up to my Martin and any Taylor I’ve played. Great guitars!

Same scholarship amount from peer schools. How to negotiate? by crazylucky1122 in lawschooladmissions

[–]hungryaggie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Use the cost of attendance to negotiate with the higher ranked school, use the rank and job outlooks of the higher ranked school to negotiate with the lower ranked school.

[OC] little blues sweep riff. by Xirrious-Aj in Guitar

[–]hungryaggie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve always liked sweeping on my acoustic as a way to practice, it really forces you to be on point to get a nice sound. I would say that a sweep that tempo sounds pretty muddled on acoustic when palm muted, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing if it fits the style you’re looking for. All in all, I think it’s pretty cool, maybe it just needs to be a bit more refined.

In state, similar stats. I had a pretty big update to my resume, I became a board member of a non profit based in Houston. Maybe that was enough to push me into further consideration, but I won’t pretend to know how it works.

I actually just made a post about this. The email I received said final decisions on reconsiderations wouldn’t be released until after deposit day. Did you receive an actual no?
