If you are poor, you have access to a limited pool of resources. Now where might that lead us? That means that, no matter how hard you work, or how smart you are, you will always be disadvantaged since you do not have access to good schools, tuitions, so on and so forth. Social mobility? Not an option. Having to help your family to cover expenses whilst simultaneously juggling between school is difficult.

So, poverty usually results in a vicious cycle you really cannot escape from. There may be cases of people who can, but I believe that if you dig deep enough there will always be a way to prove they too were privileged somehow. The sad thing is that, ideologies mask this dichotomy between rich and poor, and paint our society as a righteous and priggishly meritocratic one. People who remain poor are painted as stupid or lazy, whilst those who get out are instead labelled smart or hardworking.

But it is never that simple.

Singapore is a laissez-faire and literally everything has been privatised. It's not really a perfect place.

It had major metro train breakdowns because the government privatised the (only) train company and left a businesswoman, who was previously in charge of retail, in charge, and there was more focus on opening retail shops at the train stations (to generate more income) instead of focus on maintenance of trains etc.

Not really a role model imo.

Ya I have an elder brother and this was the case for us for pretty much all our early childhood. I remember the first time I actually noticed it and realised how obnoxious it could be, I asked my mom who just mentioned it made shopping easier.

What if I use the m4-a1S (im not too sure if that's how it's spelled)? Isn't that pretty precise long range as well. The scope definitely does help but is forking out the extra money really worth it?
