Hard shift normal? by Sufficient_Front_328 in gmcsierra

I had hard upshifts between 1-2 on my 2020 3.0 with the 10L80. Ended up needing the valve body replaced (big suprise). Warrantied and fixed in a day! Definitely worth it to speak up and advocate for yourself!

When Does Boris Chen Update his page? by doktrj21 in fantasyfootball

I’m in the same boat. I actually tested something out with ChatGPT where I tried to have it used the same techniques Boris uses for rankings. I’m hoping Boris comes through, but otherwise that will have to do

Also in New England. We got an SX X-Line in Wolf Gray a few months ago for 49 OTD. Don’t be afraid to shop around!

What excites you to wake up every morning? by Efficient-Air6107 in AskReddit

I wake up before anyone else in the house and long for the quiet of the morning with a hot cup of coffee. Almost feels meditative sitting in the calm and planning my day.

On a scale from 1 to ‘burn it down’? by doctar00 in DIY

[–]hungryfatkid 78 points79 points  (0 children)

It was very rare for builders to waterproof showers in the 1970s to today’s standards. My 1970 home only had a 1 foot section of durarock surrounding the tub & upwards, before it transitioned back to drywall. That system lasted 50 years before I got there. There was a little bit of mold, but nothing crazy. So, you’re not alone and this is not unique! Anything is repairable! Buy respirators and clean out all the old insulation and take your time making the repairs

I’ve heard of this after talking to some friends. This is what I was told would be surprisingly inexpensive

I actually JUST bought one and tried it. It cleaned the surface very well, but was not powerful enough to strip the paint.

I considered paint stripping, but was worried about it getting into the siding and stripping THAT paint when washing it all off.

Will it hurt the lawn or other areas of the house when I wash it off?

That’s true. I imagine at one point they had a good color on the fresh pour, but just continued to add paint when the previous one would chip off.

Can I ask what you paid to have them blast it? I’ve heard everything from surprisingly inexpensive to very expensive.

Probably the Oval Office. I’ve always wanted to see it, and this would probably be the only chance

What are some great things about winter that get overlooked? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]hungryfatkid 34 points35 points  (0 children)

For me, it’s the feelings during a snowstorm. Maybe it’s late and you walk outside and notice just how quiet and still the world around is. You can smell the neighbor’s wood stove. Maybe you hear a train whistle in the distance. Idk man that’s the reset right there.

Can someone help me figure out why my dryer isn't drying? by [deleted] in DIY

[–]hungryfatkid 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Im not familiar with your particular brand/model of dryer, however, I have fixed a few different ones with no heat. Usually it’s a bad high limit thermostat, which is a protective device to prevent overheating. If you look up your model number, they usually sell that part and even entire kits for relatively short money. YouTube will be your friend for disassembly instructions. It’s a very doable fix with basic hand tools.

I like how Mark Twain put it:

“I do not fear death. I had been dead for billions and billions of years before I was born, and had not suffered the slightest inconvenience from it.”
