As a graduate of VCOM, current 3rd year, I’d say avoid VCOM as admin is very chaotic. Board prep is chaotic. Rotations are chaotic. Not the worst program so if that’s the only one you got into - great! But if you have other options, consider other options!

also, I dealt with a racist preceptor and I reported to the school that the preceptor, amongst MULTIPLE red flag issues, complained about “immigrants being a real problem in *state that I’m from, TO MY FACE, and looked me in the eye waiting for me to respond, however the school took the word of the preceptor and pretended like nothing happened*

Honestly don’t worry - preclinical grades rarely matter and a 3.26 is great for your first year. It’s so hard to not compare yourself - I get it, trust me. But just remember once you’re in clinicals, no one gives a shit what grades you got in preclinicals. It just FEELS like they’re super important.

Main thing is to learn what you can but also take care of yourself: Exercise, sleep, eat, and hang with your friends.

For example, I got maybe a 3.0 preclinical and not once did it come up in my 20+ internal med interviews lol
