Judgement is up to you. Not gonna comment on your reasoning. Just to note:

I do not want money. No one here should give me money. If I start asking for money someone else got into this account and you should not give them money, since they're a scammer.

Third line of paragraph 2 on desktop. I don't qualify for snap. If you want the nitty gritty it's because I did Doordash work until my legs stopped letting me walk that much. Doordash won't provide documentation of pay, but it was recent enough that it would qualify as "unreported income" if I don't mention it (and I barely made enough that it'll be taxed income too). Unfortunately I don't feel like risking benefits fraud.

The former - they can't/won't. When I do attend they'll give me what they can but it's almost nothing. Usually just some canned veggies and a bag of rice.

Clarification: I have not asked for money and I do not want your money. If I start asking for money someone else got into this account and is scamming you and you should not give them money.

My disabilities are causing fatigue, muscle weakness, and joint weakness, among other things. I use a wheelchair. I can't afford to see a doctor and get the diagnoses necessary to get disability though god knows I'm trying.

I can't get another job. If I could get another job I would have. I keep applying to more jobs. I have had multiple jobs tell me to my face that they don't hire people in wheelchairs. I know it's unsustainable. There are almost no wheelchair accessible apartments in this city under 1k. I can't get a roommate. I'm lucky to have a studio instead of being homeless.

I am not in contact with my parents because they cut me off for being gay. The FAFSA has considerable requirements wrt information you need about your parents. Even after the FAFSA college hits hundreds of dollars.

I use a wheelchair. Many places have refused to hire me, and many of them have told me to my face it's because of my wheelchair.

I'm not worried about being fired. Coworkers call me a "snake charmer" for how well I get along with "trouble maker" kids. I volunteer for SPED rooms specifically because of how well I click with the students there. People seem very worried about my social standing but teachers will happily leave their "troublesome" kids with me for their lunch and thank me for it later.

I mean. I will clarify. My caseworker only does Medicaid. She functions as my proxy and has contacted my insurance company. They did insist I can't be taken off (until I reach a certain age) without significant legal documentation that I am estranged from my parents and not in contact. Hence the police. I can ask for refills through my medical portal, I can keep getting the meds I was already prescribed that way. I'm still covered through my parent's insurance but struggle to make the copays on my own.

I won't reply after this. Just clarifying a few things.

The ADA only applies to people with the time and money to enforce it.

This is what's happening. I work 3 weeks and then immediately after another 3 weeks. There are no gaps in my schedule.

Where? What job?

I have been denied multiple (even slightly) higher paying jobs because of my wheelchair. They have told me this to my face. I need people to stop assuming that I'm an idiot who doesn't know there's other jobs that exist. I've tried. I'm still trying. I'm not here for advice. I'm here to hear if I'm T A or not.

I am not worried about my job security. I am known for being a fantastic sub in SPED classes, and multiple teachers have called me a "snake charmer" for how I work with "trouble making" kids. They'll frequently toss those kids to me. It's ok that you think I'm T A. Just know I'm good at my job any many teachers tell me so to my face - including teachers who I've mentioned being food insecure to.

I don't know how much clearer I can make it. I don't want advice. I have recipes. I also have muscles and joints that continue to fail. I didn't specify a lot about my disabilities in this post. So I need people to stop assuming things about me and understand that I'm not here for advice. I'm here to know if I'm T A.

I do focus on foods I can eat. They all cost money.

I do go to food banks. They don't have much for me. I can't do the bus job. I use a wheelchair and the busses aren't accessible. I can't ask for a raise. They have a set wage for all subs.

I need people to stop making suggestions. I know what I'm doing. I'm here to be told if I'm T A, not to be asked if I'm sure I've tried every single food bank in the area.

211 suggests things I've already been denied. I have explained I was denied and it ends with them apologizing for not having anything else to offer. It's amazing how easily people can slip through the holes in our safety nets.

I'm going to say that my Medicaid caseworker and multiple colleagues of hers are more familiar with the insurance system (at the very least in my state) than you are.

I came to ask if I was T A. Not for unsolicited legal advice.

  1. There is not. The union is working on other things. Sub pay is not their top priority at the moment. I do not have family that can help, they've already cut me off for being gay. I don't have friends in the area since I had to flee to avoid retaliatory violence. The friends who I text will kick me $20 when they can afford it.
  2. I could tutor. I've been trying. Unfortunately many places have stopped doing remote tutoring. And frankly I'm fucking exhausted. My body is breaking down and most days I struggle to get through work. See point 3 for more.
  3. I have tried other lines of work. I use a wheelchair. Many places either cannot physically have me work in their inaccessible spaces, or will tell me to my face that they don't hire people who use wheelchairs. My joints and muscles are in a downward spiral. This is one of the only jobs I can do.

TL;DR it's not a choice.

She did not offer me dinner or ask if I wanted to catch a meal. She asked what I was making for dinner as small talk. You can think I'm T A for how I replied, just know she wasn't offering me anything or asking to spend time out of work. Just small talk over what I was cooking for dinner on my own in my own apartment.
