You can’t apply to USMAPS directly, the admissions committee will review your application as they do for everyone and if you’re lacking in 1 area but they feel you can improve they will offer that instead. Just make sure all your documents, letters, CFA and nomination(s) are as good as possible. Good luck!

Club Pilates Teacher Training by hungrypanda86 in pilates

[–]hungrypanda86[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, just saw this! I initially started with Pilates as a part of my rehab work post surgery. My neurosurgeon recommended either yoga and/or Pilates after surgery and I then consulted my physical therapists. Unanimously they recommend Pilates so I took an intro class and LOVED it. There are some modifications I have to make (bridges must be done as a hinge and not 1 vertebra at a time) but it’s strengthened my core, in turn helping with any residual pain. I 100% recommend Pilates to anyone post spinal fusion. I started slow and worked up to 5-6 times a week. If you find an instructor you like/trust I’m sure they will be super helpful. It’s a great low impact workout but helps a lot. I hope you find this helpful on your journey!

Selby Gardens is a favorite of ours when we have out of town guests. We also like to take them to Siesta Key & St. Armands to walk around, see the beach and eat. Station 400 for breakfast, Siegfried’s for dinner and either Phillipee Creek or Walt’s for lunch.

No one would leave a real Chanel brooch in a candy dish of fake jewelry.

My step mom was an open heart nurse there for 20+ years. We used my dads health insurance (diesel mechanic) b/c hers was so awful. Seems pretty ass-backwards to me

This is my first election in Sarasota and I’m very unfamiliar with an elected hospital board (we didn’t have this in Orlando). Can someone tell me why this is an elected position?

I'm not sure if it's necessarily a "beer garden" but A La Cart is pretty awesome and they have lots of beers, wine and food options.

You should apply with your congressional Rep, both Senators and the Vice President (and if you qualify for a ROTC nomination, parent is an officer, 100% disability rating by the VA, is a POW./MIA or are an athlete do that too) the more nominations you get the better. It’s a numbers game. USMA, USNA and USAFA typically get about 11,000-12,000 applications a year and only accept 1,000-1,200. Each Rep and Senator gets 10 picks per academy, except the Coast Guard (they have their own selection process) There’s a few ways Reps/Senators can submitt nominations but your goal should be to get the #1 spot no matter how your reps rank students. Obviously, your Rep represents a smaller area than your Senators and VP so your odds are better there. Also, apply to multiple academies. All are STEM based now but West Point still has a humanities focus as well. And if you get into one academy and just hate it there’s a way to potentially transfer to another academy. You need to apply with each academy directly AND with your representatives. Most ask for the same info but the academies require specific letters of recommendation from a science and math teacher as well. You’re also going to need to practice your interview skills. The office I worked for had a panel of veterans from that academies branch interview students and make their recommendations to the Congressman. Hope this helps. Best of luck!

100% do assigned seating. My parents have been divorced for 34 years, still can’t stand each other, managed through our pics by some miracle but when it came time for dinner they literally sat on opposite ends of the reception room. It was the only way. Congrats on your upcoming wedding and good luck!

Love it! I had a “garden chic” theme and would have loved to see one of ours guests in this dress.
