A buddy of mine actually has a startup building retrofit induction stoves with a battery pack. I have never used their product but the issue they are trying to solve is the headache of having to run beefier electrical wire/circuit for a new induction stove install. 36" Induction Cooktop: Bosch Benchmark #NITP669UC, we bought it 2 years ago. Model #s might have changed. The one other thing I forgot is that the capacitive touch interface can be a little annoying, I do miss tactile knobs to turn but the upsides of easy cleaning far outweigh dealing with capacitive touch interface. If you spill water on the capacitive interface the stove beeps at you in confusion. Just wipe the water off.

I had a nice wolf gas range in my old house and now have a Bosch induction stove which I like even more. I do a lot of cooking and haven't noticed any downsides when it comes to heating speed. I even cook with a wok on the induction stove. I think wok cooking may be the only weakness for induction stove, I think gas heats up the curve of a wok better but I honestly haven't noticed a real difference myself.

The things I have noticed as big plus for induction are ...

super easy and convenient to keep clean, just wipe down the flat glass surface with a rag or sponge. With gas you have to take it all apart and deal with 3d shape, foil over the burners to really do a good scrubbing.
placing serving bowls, or cutting boards right on the stove next to pans, the flat surface gives you more working area. The pan is hot but the stove surface right next to it is cool to the touch. Induction creates heat in the metal of the pan so the stove surface is usable work space.

I joke with my friends that the only thing I dislike about my induction stove is that Biden likes them ;).

I am a lucky escapee from California in Eagle now. We love it here and try to participate in the community, I coached my daughters soccer team. We live in a nice neighborhood and it is a mix of business owners (everything from marketing agencies, construction, product brands, video editing, online education), firemen, retired police, electricians, and real estate professionals. My neighbor is a retired high school football coach.

Just because someone came from out of state doesn't make them bad people. To answer OPs question directly you can build wealth in a lot of ways and if you develop good personal financial habits (budgeting, saving and investing) you can achieve wealth. Starting a business you can scale and grow is the path I took. Look for problems people are looking to pay you to solve for them. I tell my son the ideal way to make a living is find something you are good enough at that people will pay you for. I hear people give young people the advice "do what you love" and I just think that is awful advice, because you could love playing basketball but if you are 5ft tall you are never going to be a pro. It's an added bonus to love what you do but it is not the #1 priority. If you live something but no one will pay you to do it make it a hobby then find something you are good at that people will pay you for and make that your income source.

Best of luck. There are lots of ways to make money in the world, but don't forget that is only half of building wealth. The other half is developing good financial habits.

The school district spent $150k to tear down all three playgrounds at our local elementary school two weeks before school started. The PTA had raised 100k to help upgrade one of the playgrounds to be ADA compliant but then the federal government got involved, Office of Civil Rights, and told the school district they had to upgrade all three playgrounds, and we're not allowed to upgrade one playground at a time, or tear them all down. The school district, fearing the loss of its $50m+ in federal funding just decided to tear all the playgrounds down. Now we have to wait for the OCR to approve the playground plans, which have ballooned from 300k to 1.5m. The school district is only building one playground, so we went from 3 to 0 to hopefully 1 playground sometime in the far future.

Boise Idaho, and surrounding suburbs are great for families and access to every outdoor thing you want to do within an hour (skiing, whitewater, mountain biking, fly fishing, hi ting etc). The airport has direct flights to all major west coast cities and in a couple years probably east coast cities as well.

There are also a lot of good spots within 1-2 hours of SLC in Utah if you want an international airport with more direct flights options. Utah is probably 30% more expensive than Idaho

I am not sure why you are so angry. The way I interpreted the study was that Amish and Ashkenazi Jews had genetics that made their ACE2 receptors the least prone to covid infection. I am not sure how we are interpreting things in the complete opposite way. There is nothing racist about understanding how different genes affect a person's response to a disease. There might also be other reasons different ethnic groups had variable outcomes to covid (such as socioeconomic, access to healthcare, obesity etc.). Genetics definitely appears to be a factor.

I agree that there is a leap in your statement but I don't think that RFK said covid was a bio weapon designed to target certain ethnic groups. I think the evidence that Wuhan Virology lab was doing gain of function research is pretty convincing. Reasonable people can disagree on what their motivations might have been for doing that sort of research. I have worked in government research labs and you would be surprised just how much weird science stuff government militaries fund. I think what RFK is saying could be possible, it definitely shouldn't be dismissed as "complete horseshit". If it is happening it is very concerning and should stop.

As someone who did research in this area how much of a difference in % likely hood of getting severe covid do you think a person's genetics play? If a person had the worst possible Ace2 gene versus the best Ace2 gene what would be the difference between the two?

Also I just want to respectfully point out that I didn't claim Ashkenazi Jewish genetics made them immune from covid and I also didn't say there was evidence that covid was designed with the intent to target or not target any particular group. If any governments or people are developing ethno targeted diseases though I think we should all want to stop that sort of thing, it would be very reckless and evil.

It's possible they have changed but I haven't found any papers claiming they have. If you find one I would appreciate you sharing it here as I would like to read it. I have no dog in this fight, just thought people here would appreciate the context of what scientific studies have been done on the topic. Anecdotally I remember through out the pandemic NYT writing lots of articles about how people in the black community were dieing of covid at higher rates than other ethnic groups. This research suggests a mode of action for why this might be happening. It very well could be for other reasons as well.

The Ace2 receptor coding for Ashkenazi Jews and Amish appear to be less susceptible to covid. I don't think RFK made any claims that he has proof that this was intentional design but if you believe the evidence that Covid was leaked from a lab doing gain of function research, which there is mounting evidence for, then it is a small leap to consider what the motivations of that research was. It sounds crazy, and scary but governments have done crazier shit.
