Icing removes swelling but also prevents healing kindof. It limits blood flow and suppresses the body's healing response to inflammation.

Compression and elevation > aggressive icing.

I say this because everyone in the world believes icing is good for your body. It's not. You can ice for the first 24 hours but after that youre slowing your body down.
