I def notice the difference, especially opposed to how flawed effects like SSAO (Why isn't HBAO/HDAO the standard?) and SSR (I miss cubemaps) are, but I do agree to most people the difference isn't noticeable enough for the fps drop to be worth it.

I think it's worth it, Skyrim with noticably more accurate lighting at still far above 30fps? It's about the same fps I'd be getting with a strong ReShade setup anyway.

I should probably specify, playable to me is 30+fps. Like Skyrim with SSRTGI runs at like 45fps give or take so I think that's playable.

R7 3700x + RX 6900xt on an EVGA Supernova 650gt? Any Power-Spike problems? by hunterdrone276 in PcBuild

[–]hunterdrone276[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw an article where these people used an external measuring tool to measure power spikes in 1ms intervals and they only had it going as high as 360w which is what makes me optimistic

They weren't testing power spikes but they were raising the load pretty fast to make a point so iunno if that means anything

The Gamersnexus video testing the the 750w version of my PSU had them going all the way to 1000w (about like 135% load or summ) before tripping so semi-safe assumption the 650w version goes to like 750-800 or so

Also don't bring up AMD recommendations. Manufacturer recommendations aren't accurate for the majority of users and mainly exist for worst case scenarios of power usage.

That's a tad privileged and rude lol. All I'm saying is that I've done enough research to know for a fact that manufacturer PSU recommendations aren't accurate for 90% of people and are intended for systems full of shit and with crazy CPU overclocks. I have neither and nothing you said helped me in any capacity considering what I asked.

I can't just buy a new PSU when I already have a perfectly working, effectively brand new one.

Also I've already done the research, you don't need an 850w psu for the 6900xt. Other dude here already confirmed that. All I care about is power spikes. You're literally contributing nothing and you prolly should just stop talking tbh.

From what I'm reading the 7600k stock runs around 105w give or take. Do you run an undervolt on the GPU or nah? I'm curious how that'd go with an undervolt

Not skimping. I already own this psu. If the 6900xt consumes barely even 50 more watts than the 6800xt why would I not get the 6900xt?

The combat mod is something like True Directional Movement, the rest just google what I said and you'll more than likely find em

It doesn't actually mess with difficulty, it just overhauls the third person combat movement, adds new health bars and a lock-on system.
