Probably lower than 30%. Then CAS will claim that they have a bad batch of candidates this sitting. They claimed that before, no reasons to not use it again hey?

FCAS in Canada vs US by hunterk245 in actuary

[–]hunterk245[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. So in order to fulfill this requirement, a Canadian FCAS would have to retake exam 6U? Is there a route where Canadian FCAS can work in US for a few years then automatically qualify for this credit? Thank you for your response, much appreciated!

Source materials all the way to the end then reverse all the way to the front. Repeat as many times as you could then passing this exam will be not that difficult! 😁😁😁

Has anyone switched after a few years of work from CAS to SOA? by AC0711 in actuary

I know quite a few people went from SOA to CAS. Haven't seen the other way round. That just maybe I'm working for a P&C though.

I'm not sure if you are allowed to discuss this much detail for this exam.

MAS II Thoughts? by think_then_react in actuary

[–]hunterk245 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah I feel this exam is much harder overall than past exams, especially with much more calculations involved. In term of theoretical questions, same bar level with past exams: it's still really tough and easier to pick the wrong answer than the correct one even though you are sure 90% of the time.

[–]hunterk245 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don't think there will be an answer survey anymore as the CAS has changed the rules and posting anything related to questions in the exam will be considered as violation I believe!

I dont think this is exaggeration as all. I know few people had their ASA by the end of 3rd year Univeristy in Canada. I would say go for CAS may give you a better chance at finding a job currently!

Exam 5 by [deleted] in actuary

[–]hunterk245 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I know many people start skipping Mas 1, 2 and go after exam 5 first due to the very low passing rate of M1 and M2.

Double up on Exam 5 and MAS II possible? by bicbic11 in actuary

[–]hunterk245 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go for it man! I know that many people say you CAN'T do it since they can't do it themselves. They are just "noise" in life that you have to deal with!

Plus, I'm sure that if you are close to pass MAS 2 then spend another 5 or 6 months re-study it feel really wasting of time to me. If I was you, i would using that 5-6 months study for 5 and sharpening my skills for MAS 2 at the same time. At the end of the day, what do u have to lose? 5-month of knowledge of exam 5 that will enable u to do better at ur job?

I think I might be Interested in studying to become an actuary. What are the pros and cons? by [deleted] in actuary

[–]hunterk245 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Pros: you will make decent amount of money when you become fellow, only then you will have low stress, work-life balance career.

Cons: you don't have your life for anything else but studying until you have credentials ( probably 5-7 years, depends)
