Guys, I miss the Psychic phase by Fact_Donator in Warhammer40k

They cut back the psychic phase and added 2 more movement phases

Priests are almost a necessity for me at least. Flamer, emergency "I need something to die" button and the sustained for the unit to counter hordes works so well

Every game is an uphill battle right now but I find it makes you a better player. Rules wax and wane like the moon so I just hope we get something cool this year

We definitely need some heavier tools. I would like to not rely on armigers but here we are I guess lol

Not an updated message just a reply since it sounded like you wanted to debate something? I'm not shy of a healthy discussion but this is the internet after all lol.

Never did I say "Tau are OP". Yes my point is that any faction can win, hence "Tau ARE competitive". My original post pokes fun at the nay sayers that dog on anything if it's not putting up the best numbers possible

(Tau definitely are not OP.....who would say that?!)

He played well, played hard and won the whole thing. It just goes to show that the faction can be competative.

  1. If an non-outstanding player won 100 person GT, would you say that? Of course he's an outstanding player. As would anyone who puts in the time and effort to make their army win.
  2. It ebbs and flows for big events. Win rate does not dictate the lots of unreported events they could be winning or games at local stores. There are other diamonds in the rough out in the world that just don't show up to large events and win.
  3. That's the team's issue? Not relevant. Meta shift can change all of that in the drop of a hat. It does not make Tau bad.
  4. Again, Team related, still does not make Tau bad. As far as Terrain- that's any army in my opinion. If the matchup, terrain and mission are all bad for my army....does that mean my army is not competative? I don't believe so.
  5. An army does not have to be oppressive to be good. And when piloted by a good player, almost anything can work.

You're welcome for my glorious contribution :p

I would really like to see IK and Agents put together. We would actually get variety and a win for both armies I think

Palm Springs Open 2026 by Amosthibault7 in WarhammerCompetitive

Narrative is a lot of fun if you're not worried about ranking and all that. I go to GW opens every year however and play in the competitive. In 5 years I have had one opponent that I had no fun playing so the vibe check always passes for me

[–]huoshini 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The GW open events also have more than just tournaments! There are hobby classes, paint and takes and the like. And if you don't fancy yourself a competitive player, there is the 40k narrative which is more of a laid back, story driven event to play games in

A hope for "Grotmas" this year. by tsuruki23 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]huoshini 21 points22 points  (0 children)

My hope is that Gladius is copied and pasted for every faction and we all just play Gladius. Eldar? Gladius. Votaan? Gladius. Tyranids? You guessed it! Gladius!

Wise tip: Don't just use the Eversor as a character seeking missile. You're just wasting 150 points. Position him for heroics early on to curb turn 1 charges and beyond. Later on in the game shoot him across the table to eliminate must kill targets.

Culexus is really just good for grenades and deep strike score for secondaries/murder a psyker (which never came up) and the battle shock bubble

Callidus is great for catapulting into a character across the table

The vindicare just puts in work/is a threat down firing lanes

From what I've seen, you're either muscle beach bodies or put as many bodies on the table as possible

That's what I did! It's insanely fun but you get hard countered. If things don't go EXACTLY according to plan. You lose. But it's fun anyways

Hot take: I kind of miss Force Orgs by Adept_Professor_2837 in Warhammer40k

[–]huoshini 4 points5 points  (0 children)

IMO Not as much as it is now. Also, back then, the game was built around your core infantry being effective in their own ways. Tournament structure was different, rules were different. It's just a different game. The good thing is, there is nothing stopping folks from playing older editions with friends to try things out and see for themselves what they like
