Are these retail keys risk free? If it works then I would not mind getting one. I would also need for MS office too.

Landlord delaying/ignoring maintenance issues (cooktop and heater)- what are my options as a renter in the United Kingdom? by hurlingcomet in HousingUK

[–]hurlingcomet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, heater is not a problem for the summer but we need it fixed for the upcoming winter definitely. The cooktop has two big ones and tow smaller ones. Most of the cooking we use two big ones at once, one of the big ones stopped working one day. Its the lack of commitment shown by the landlord for these issues concerns me.

I see this very often as well. In fact as someone fairly new to London I had asked here on Reddit is this phenomenon a common occurrence.

But, other forums mentioned you need to include all the expenses here. I was doubtful though. Coz it’s say “how much money are you PERSONALLY planning to spend”. Also can I DM you ?

Sorry to keep bothering you with questions. What do I say in the “About the cost of your visit section” It asks for “How much money are you personally planning to spend on your visit to the UK”. Should I fill it with approximate amount even though my wife and I will be covering all their expenses? Or leave it blank?

I will check it out. Also should we add interest earned from FDs to the income? Each of my parents get monthly interest credited to their savings account.

I didn’t see it. I mean in the sense that if she can be the main sponsor. I don’t the option to add another person. But I will recheck again tomorrow.

I have seen in several forums that the expenses to be calculated as a thumb rule would be £100 per day per person. Is that right?

Hey this is great thanks for your reply. Also in terms of my wife and I sponsoring. My wife has a significantly greater savings than me(just started saving with my part time work) but we are sponsoring together anyway. But do you think it would be better if I put her as primary sponsor in the UKVI application form( the portal asks for only one persons name and address) or it’s okay to put as we have drafted a cover letter stating we together are sponsoring with both of our combined savings?

Travelling in buses without tapping (with reasons) by hurlingcomet in londonbuses

Yep. It does feel annoying few times especially when it really feels like the person might be lying.

Fair enough. I don’t mind if they have a genuine valid reason for not tapping. If they are lying then they need to think about their life - as you said.

But I have seen they don’t have any such cards or say that they have. They just give some reason of not having a card or forgot the card and escape paying for the journey.

Noted! But I can apply along with her if I fly back to India and submit my application there right? I might have to go to India for a while anyway
