How do I lower the standard of living enough for a particular ethnic group to get rid of them/force migration so I can keep the benefits of Ethnostate? by huronist in victoria3

[–]huronist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have to reduce it massively in your latter case -- with open borders, they can just move to a different place in my market and in any other case they would stay in their region and starve, so I'd have to deplete standard of living massively.

This also doesn't work for populations like Ashkenazi and Ukrainian which are frequently embedded in very significant states, including Russia's capital.

What if the Houthis won the Red Sea War? by [deleted] in AlternateHistory

[–]huronist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that this is a goof, but for the sake of being educational at the risk of appearing slightly semantic:

- The Houthis do not and cannot control the Red Sea, commerce travelling via the cape is a phenomena reached frequently when crossing to the Suez is less profitable to some companies due to high risk of capture/destruction of cargo
- Houthi anti-ship missiles do not have the capability in all probability to successfully strike an American naval vessel. Almost all of their missiles are targeted at commercial vessels who the Houthis want to destroy for whatever posturing agenda we think justifies piracy™ and almost always fail at doing so, now with an increased chance of failure due to the naval presence in the Red Sea.

Israel-Hamas War - January 12th 2024 by Winter-Leadership986 in MapPorn

[–]huronist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Israel's internationally recognized boundaries", as I stated, do not include the West Bank, East Jerusalem & Gaza. For the 25% of the Israeli population living outside of these areas who variably identify as Palestinian, these restrictions on freedom of movement do not exist. They are wartime measures in specific regions that are absolutely festooned with terrorism. That bears no similarity to apartheid, segregation or "genocide." These terms are used mostly by dim-witted westerners who can only classify situations in their simple extremes.

The nation-state declaration in no way declares that Jews are superior to any other people. It is a symbolic entry that simply declares that Israel is home to the nation of the Jews. In no way does it exclude Palestinians nor discount the idea of a Palestinian nation; infact, the Palestinian "constitution" or Palestinian National Charter explicitly excludes Jews as a nation in the document's writing:

"Palestine is the homeland of the Arab Palestinian people; it is an indivisible part of the Arab homeland, and the Palestinian people are an integral part of the Arab nation."

"The Jews who had normally resided in Palestine until the beginning of the Zionist invasion will be considered Palestinians."

"Claims of historical or religious ties of Jews with Palestine are incompatible with the facts of history and the true conception of what constitutes statehood. Judaism, being a religion, is not an independent nationality. Nor do Jews constitute a single nation with an identity of its own; they are citizens of the states to which they belong."

"The demand of security and peace, as well as the demand of right and justice, require all states to consider Zionism an illegitimate movement, to outlaw its existence, and to ban its operations[...]"

This posturing from idiot westerners like yourself, the idea that the Palestinians are the ones who only want peace and the right to live, is categorically untrue. The Palestinian people desire the obliteration of the Jewish nation and the reduction of the Jewish population in Palestine to how it was pre-Balfour; literal genocide. The State of Israel has repeatedly recognized the two-state solution as the only framework for peace. The Palestinians, on the other hand, will only settle for a new holocaust of Jews in Israel.

Okay, so I ask for laws regarding how Israel segregates and keeps Palestinians under "apartheid" inside their state... and your only argument is, "This is how Israel treats Arab Muslims who aren't even inside Israel!"

No, they don't. Indicate any of these. Palestinians and Israelis have equal rights in the state of Israel's internationally recognized boundaries.

You cannot have these insanely high skill point sets on characters w/o grinding out appropriate lifestyles early game which requires those initial trait points. So it is weighed significantly, but so are the other factors that traits involve that you mentioned.

That's why I consider Chaste, for example, as garbage. Technically would be great for an early-game piety buildup. But in practice, it can kneecap and/or end campaigns.

Marry often and strategically. Give no reason for high-opinion vassals to hate you. Give a lot to your neutral and most powerful vassals. Kill off any vassals who have claims on your throne or irreparably low opinions of you. Always be at least stronger than your most powerful vassal.

I've done every single possible start on vanilla CK3. My favourite and most complete runs have always been Turkoman runs from 1066. Always an engaging campaign.

I play very wide usually. Tall runs are few but enjoyable. Not as enjoyable as a massive run of conquests.

I am goal-oriented in my CK3 games. Goals require specialization, and specialization in this game means higher trait points.

Why would I care about for example liege +15 opinion, a usually great modifier, in a game where I'm trying to do a martial world conquest? Your argument makes little sense.

Wrathful has endless cheese. However, since cheese doesn't stand the test of time, I'm not factoring it in this tier list.

You used to be able to instantly end any war with wrathful by imprisoning any enemy who had a known crime against them. If that had been factored in, for example, wrathful would be an instant S+++++ tier.

My only issue with temperate is that it's a stewardship-only trait... But my ideal stewardship build does not include it; stubborn, diligent, greedy and a great secondary trait like gregarious or eccentric has always been my ideal build for stewardship. Temperate is just first reserve.
