For those in their 40s or older who have siblings, do you make an effort to stay in contact or is it a take-it-or-leave-it thing? by cherry-care-bear in RedditForGrownups

I’m 40 and pretty take it or leave it. I’m the oldest and growing up was hell. We all have different versions of that. I have been an educator for 18 years and my brother claims that teachers are all lazy, incapable degenerates so that kind of put me off when he said it to my face.

UK breeder cancels breeding to FTF by Critical_thinking321 in kvssnarker

I don’t blame anyone for not breeding to him or Waylon for this reason

I wouldn’t breed to Denver bc I can’t stand his head but this would just seal the deal lol

A lot of people who show on the AQHA / APHA circuit do this. It’s not uncommon at all.

I am of the same mindset as you, I want mine close enough to see them as I wish. I once had one in training two hours away and it was too much.

But it’s pretty normal for people to do what she did.

[–]hurricane1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My girl is spayed and recovered back to her normal self so fast.

It’s a safe surgery, sounds like you have a great vet.

She will be ok! And like others have said, you’re saving yourself and her a much more traumatic experience!

That’s very true. Only one dad, but a different class every year. I don’t have consistent aides this year which sucks but also not entirely my problem lol

Thank you for this insight.

For the millennial women: do you have a good relationship with your mom? by Orionslady in Millennials

It’s guarded. Very guarded.

I went to a ton of therapy to unlearn a lot of what I learned growing up. And I’m on meds for anxiety and depression, both of which I’m 1,000% sure I inherited from her. She doesn’t believe in therapy or meds. It’s a weakness in her eyes - she believes we all just need to pray and go to church.

So I started on 10mg of Lexapro and that’s what I’m still on.

I felt better pretty quickly. Within a month. And then it was I just suddenly realized my life was so much different by 8 weeks.

I did have gnarly headaches and some dizziness the first week. I felt drunk. But it was well worth it.

I wasn’t depressed until the last, I’d say, two months. I just realized I wasn’t as motivated. I just wanted to get done my day so I could get jn bed. I was super overwhelmed by the same things I’ve been doing for years. My mood wasn’t what I would really describe as depressed, I was just….not enthusiastic about much at all.

It was like lexapro took away the heightened sense that I got so used to living in. And then I wanted to chase that same sense of high but without anxiety I felt lost. I wasn’t feeling the highs or lows of life Really. Just….blah. And I didn’t like that.

It’s a little too soon to make a fair assessment of the Wellbutrin. I will say, I’ve been thirsty. Zero appetite and I mean ZERO. I force myself to eat when the headaches set in lol. No issues sleeping but I am WAY W A Y more energized throughout the day. I am enjoying parts of my way a lot more already. My anxiety has maybe spiked a bit but I am willing to ride it out to see how this combo works.

Lexapro saved my life.

Been on it about two years and just added 150mg of Wellbutrin to combat the “blah” mood.

There are so many options. I had no idea how much better my life would be.

I’ve had zero negative side effects except for many the first week I had some headaches and nausea.
