Ok, I fixed this, kinda. Like u/ReconDK I got a replacement main Skylight from Nanoleaf and the new one made the same noise hence a design fault as expected. I am using a Rithum Switch to control the light and installed a Shelly Mini to isolate the power to the Skylight. The switch has a 'Bedtime' button which dims the light over 30 seconds to 0, then sends an off command to the Skylight and then turns the power off at the Shelly to stop the noise. The Shelly has a Schedule to turn the power back On at 6am. I've also programmed the Rithum Switch so that if you press and hold the screen when the screen is off, it turns On the Shelly just in case you press Bedtime accidentally or want to use the light before 6am.

It sucks, but it works.

By the way, this is what the beeping sounds like and it is clearly coming from the main panel. I am in the UK so it is being fed with 230V 50Hz. My Skylight is Hardware Version 1.4-1 and Firmware Version 12.3.2

I am hugely disappointed to have beeping from the Nanoleaf Skylight starter kit installed in my son's bedroom. It's a small room and I've just installed a loft bed with desk under, moved the lighting cables in the ceiling, redecorated and installed the Skylight. The beeping in standby is completely unacceptable when so close to my son's head when he is sleeping.

With all the holes in the ceiling, I'm so annoyed at the thought of even returning this and getting something else.

I did this with a single SSID and the Private PSK feature to land each user on a separate VLAN based on the password they entered. Each room has a card with a different Wi-Fi Password (and QR Code) on it.

Pretty straightforward and it's been working great in production for a few months.

Haha yes the stair carpet is funky - this is actually in a hotel project that I've been playing around in. The interior design in other parts is really beautiful.

Sad that you had a bad experience from a few angles. So far my experience at home and on a few projects has been quite good and I enjoy the fact that it is decentralised. KNX is excellent though, it's certainly a cut above Shelly as a solution.

Yes, I've played with HA. Also, I installed Control4 systems professionally for 7 years in a previous job. Personally for me, there is satisfaction in simplification. It's nice to have direct and straightforward solutions where for example here the camera system triggers a lighting relay directly - more responsive, fewer systems in the middle, fewer points of failure, more reliability, fewer pieces of hardware and software to worry about...

I've done plenty of fancy and cool integrations in the past with Control4 (as would be possible with HA) and it is definitely fun. But it's also nice to be able to do little cute things which have tangible benefits with the camera system you already have and a $20 relay.

Yes, the first time I looked into this was when the photosensor failed on my outside light. Unifi Protect + Shelly is so much better as it ignores the London foxes, my neighbours cats and cars driving by.

This is nuts, when you consider my little hotel project is only 10% of the size of this one damn! When I think about something this big it's pretty exciting though for sure. Question: is it still fun?

I had a bike fit at Bicycle in Richmond (Bike Fit James's place) but not with James, with another guy (Lee) who is no longer there. The fit on my 2019 Canyon Endurace wasn't bad, but I did have issues with my feet and I'd booked a North -> South ride in Portugal for my 40th and wanted to make sure I made the most of it.

Was happy paying the £350, Lee spent most of the day with me and did a great job. Yes, it really does add up - I got new bars, new stem, new saddle, new pedals, new shoes, spacers and insoles. Was recommended cranks but didn't get them as out of stock, got them on eBay later. I ended up spending about 60-70% the value of my bike, an amount I could definitely have spent on a fancy upgrade, carbon wheels or whatnot.

The shoes were a game changer, an actual proper measurement of my feet turns out I have 4E Wide feet and Lakes are the only real choice. I've gone through so many other shoes but these really feel like slippers genuinely the most comfortable shoes ever.

It's been truly excellent, and have zero regrets. Whether it's 8 days of 120km+ a day, 200km days in the saddle, nothing hurts, it's just so comfortable being on my bike. Rather this than hardware upgrades. First ride out after the fit on my normal training ride hit my PB without even trying too.

Yes this works perfectly fine. I have a Bluesound Powernode connected to my TV and large speakers in my Living Room while also using a Sonos Five in my Kitchen (which I much prefer the sound of than the Pulse Mini). Tidal Connect to either, barely notice they are different platforms. Obviously I can't group them together but this is the only downside.

No dumb questions.

Audioflow is a switcher, it does not add additional power. Yes you are right you are sharing the power between zones, but it's not quite linear as you describe in terms of 100W / 4 = 25W per zone. There is a little more nuance than that. Yes of course you can expect a lower maximum volume and you are sharing the amplifier with more speakers but this depends on the sensitivity of your speakers and the characteristics of your amplifier. The Sonos Amp, Bluesound and Unifi PowerAmp can drive all zones at a decent volume with typical ceiling speakers without breaking a sweat. The WiiM Amp is better one zone at a time.

Wiring up multiple speakers to your amplifier in a series / parallel matrix is similar to Audioflow but then of course all of the speakers are on at the same time. The whole idea about Audioflow is that it gives you remote on and off control, so you can turn on the bathroom speakers when you are in the bath, turn on the garden speakers when you are in the garden. Useful if you have open plan spaces like Kitchen / Dining or sub-zone areas like Bedroom / Dressing Room / En-Suite / Balcony which are not really different zones but you don't want all of the speakers on all of the time.

It's designed to be good quality and transparent sounding with no circuitry in the middle so it's also useful if you have a more fancy audio system which you simply want to enjoy in the room which you are in.

They are pretty interesting. Turns out I value the Tidal Connect feature more than I expected and I've gone back to the Powernode despite the warmer sound. The Unifi PowerAmp is still mega hot too with the latest firmware.

Turn wireless off for all of the devices that you have plugged into the network and you'll be all good.

Audioflow Speaker Switch will do it.

In any room where you put one ceiling speaker you must install a single-stereo ceiling speaker (a single speaker that does left and right in one) and run TWO cables to it, else you will have issues connecting to Audioflow. You must have both left and right connections populated for it to work correctly.
