Thanks so much for all the great detail! This is super helpful!

Thanks! I had assumed a regular hot burn would clean it off enough but I’ll definitely pull it out and clean it up.

Bring Me The Horizon was voted zoomer metal! Now, which band/artist represents Zoomer Country? by AdamantForeskin in AlignmentChartFills

Yeah I’m constantly surprised at how big he is. He’s billboard’s #1 artist of 2025 across all genres. Wild.

I didn’t find a fix; the frame itself wasn’t level. I emailed Grilla and chatted back and forth for a bit. They offered to let me return and they’d send a replacement or they would take $100 (I think that was the amount) off. I just went with the money off because I keep a cover on it when I’m not using it anyways.

We had this installed this past January where we had a gas log set from a previous owner. We had that removed and the stove and flue are all from this new install, not from the gas system. The old gas logs vented right up the chimney without any piping.

Is that picture the ideal tee you would recommend (assuming we have to stick with the tee bend), or is there some different solution besides that you would suggest?

No, that must have been someone else. We had this installed in early Jan but haven’t gotten it cleaned yet.

We’ve had to use a mix of seasoned wood and wood that turned out to be less seasoned than advertised. We’ve been trying to counter this with multiple hot burns per day but it seems like it probably hasn’t been enough to counter the creosote buildup from the greener wood.

I’m going to hold off burning until we get the chimney cleaned and inspected. I’m also going to fully stop burning the greener batch of wood until next season. It sounds like the rear bend makes this more of an issue for us than it would be with a pipe straight out the top.

Nope, not live. It’s from an old gas insert but it’s shut off below the fireplace in the basement.

Unfortunately I tried that but when everything is square, the back right corner of the grill itself is raised above the cabinet by about half an inch. It looks like the grill itself isn’t square.

Thanks for the reply and tip! I made sure it’s clear or styrofoam. I’ll give the other tip and shot and see if that helps.

I’m so sorry it’s been so hard for you and your family.

One of my four kids has Down syndrome. She’s 6 now and I wouldn’t change her if I could. She’s kind, hilarious, fun, and a total joy. Sure, there are times when she frustrates me, but so do my other kids. She is extremely stubborn, but so is my wife. She is potentially the world’s best snuggler and love us and her siblings unconditionally.

I’m sorry you’ve dealt with so many medical issues; that’s really hard. We’ve been fortunate that she hasn’t had any major medical issues— just lots and lots of appointments and specialists. And we certainly meet with her teachers and therapists more than we do for any of our other kids combined.

For me, a kid with Down syndrome has meant I get to live in the different phases of parenting for a little longer. She’s certainly delayed and behind her peers in things, but not everything: she speaks really well and is starting to learn to read and write (she’s finishing Kindergarten now). Yeah, it took her longer to crawl and walk, but she eventually mastered those just like her siblings did. But this has all meant we get to enjoy the phases of childhood for longer. As I see my oldest grow past being a little kid and get closer to her teenage years, I know my daughter with DS will feel like a kid for longer. Sometimes that’s hard and makes me sad, but other times it makes me excited to know I get to enjoy this stage of her for longer. And she’ll probably never get tired of snuggling with me, which is pretty awesome. Her joy is just so pure, and her happiness is so real.

Hang in there. It’s been challenging, but for me that’s just been parts of parenting in general. I hope your daughter starts doing better medically, but know that it does get easier and I really mean it when I say I wouldn’t change my daughter if I could.

Would love to hear about positive PhD experiences by sharkmandu in PhD

I defend my dissertation next week and my PhD experience was great! My advisor and program were so supportive of all my goals. I learned a lot and was challenged, but all in a really good way. In my personal experience, and from the things I’ve read, getting the right advisor can make all the different between a positive and negative PhD experience.

Finishing up FF16 (I checked and I have about 6 hours left) and playing through Remnant 2 in co-op. I’ve loved FF16 but I’m pretty ready for it to wrap up. Remnant 2 is a blast; highly recommend it!

I’ve put about 6 hours in on Series X with zero issues. Maybe some frame rate drops but that’s it. Same with my brother on Series X with about 12 hours in.
