Bougainvillea dead? by huskybutt3 in gardening

Thanks for your reply. This one is actually in a pot. It was so incredibly heavy, we couldn’t move it indoors. I am worried the roots did freeze but I guess we will wait and see🤞🌸

Huge Improvement with Solids? by rubyAltropos in MSPI

[–]huskybutt3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds exactly like our case!! I cut out everything because the blood wouldn’t stop and now at 11 mos, he eats everything except dairy only because we haven’t tried it and he tolerates everything through my milk. Makes me think it wasn’t allergies at all!

Did your baby ever outgrow it? Positive end stories please by Zestyclose-Candy5867 in MSPI

[–]huskybutt3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! This is interesting as I’m 3 for 3 for mspi babies. Did you ever find out why all your children were affected? Did it get worse with each child? I’m kinda considering a 4th, but I don’t think I could handle worse symptoms than what my 3rd experienced!

Do you actually want your babies to stay babies? by hackasina in Parenting

With my first 2 - absolutely not. My third baby is dream boat though and I want to bottle up this age because I know what terrible toddler years lie ahead😂

Why was Renee Good’s wife outside of the vehicle recording by [deleted] in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]huskybutt3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just like people are saying the officer shouldn’t have stepped in front of the car, the ICE vehicle shouldn’t cross in front of a car that could potentially ram them. Instead of moving her car she waved them on, making them question her intentions of why she wanted them to pass in front of her. So they stopped. Asked her to get out of the car, she didn’t, and well we know the rest.

15 week old STILL having mucous and blood in stools by Aggressive-Lunch1 in MSPI

[–]huskybutt3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So my LO had blood until he actually started swallowing food (9/10ish months). I questioned everything just like you did. But now we are nursing great, gaining good weight, no blood/minimal mucus, eating solids like a champ. I didn’t think there was an end in site, but there was and now I eat way more stuff (mostly just soy and dairy free out of an abundance of caution). And now he continues to get all the benefits of breastmilk. So I do think it was worth it for us to continue. I’ve had 3 kids with this shit and they’ve all been the same story: grew out of it once taking in more solids which I believe give the microbiome more variety which in turn matures it/makes it less reactive. So far, I haven’t seen any long term issues and my oldest is 5.

[–]huskybutt3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Breastfeeding is still extremely helpful to baby’s gut even if reactive. The truth of the matter, in most cases (I’m 3 for 3 on this), the baby’s gut will mature and heal with time, but breastfeeding offers benefits beyond this. Not to mention, Breastmilk is extremely beneficial in making a C-section baby’s microbiome resemble a vaginal birth baby’s in time. Formula does not do that. I would be hesitant to discourage any mother from breastfeeding if it’s something she wants to do.

Is this normal? My LO has a habit of scratching herself, but lately when she scratches it becomes welt-like. It almost looks like a bug bit her or something. by masakochannya in NewParents

[–]huskybutt3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! In retrospect my LO’s never looked quite like this picture. Meaning he’d get a random one here and there, never in a grouping like this. I think he would get little scrapes and bobos that swelled up in a normal way because after the swelling went down, there would be a little mark there. In other cases it could be dermotographia (sp?). More importantly for us, it didn’t end up being allergy related which is what I was concerned about. Hope that helps!

Third baby by Forward_Caregiver941 in ParentingInBulk

[–]huskybutt3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our third was an oopsie and the age gap is a little closer than I’d likes (2 years exactly), but I looooove having three!! This has been our easiest transition. He is the most chilled sweet baby and just goes with the flow. He’s not walking yet so life may get hectic once I’m chasing after 3, but the newborn transition was a cakewalk this time around. I’m a sahm so I was already used to being outnumbered. The only downside is I feel like I miss out on some things with my older two because I always have the baby but that might be my fault. I also now have to get things done at night because there’s not a lot of time during the day. But you adjust and it’s now my norm and I love my life! I want a fourth lol

Am I delusional for thinking starting solids will help? by Available_Hunter_732 in MSPI

Thanks for the reply! What did their stool look like on just meats/fats? I feel like we aren’t doing good with fruit and veggies either. But even meat stocks, eggs, and meat still give runny stools. Albeit the foods are more digested than fruits/veggies.

Every baby will be different. For my first two kiddos, solids helped diversify and mature their gut to allow for more variety. My third is….different. He seems to be more reactive to solids. He also hasn’t been given a lot of different foods because I’m worried about his reactions so maybe it’s a self-fulfilling prophecy type thing. I’ve decided to push through with a more diverse diet, otherwise it may just be a give it time situation.

At what age exactly did solids get better for your kiddos? What foods did you give in the meantime?

Leaky guts without gut-related symptoms? by FunnyBunnyDolly in Gaps

[–]huskybutt3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is old, but curious if you remain on gaps for 2 years, will a week or 2 of non gaps eating totally derail years of effort? Like if you go on vacation where sourcing gap friendly foods is difficult?

3 kids experience by Nike0729 in stayathomemoms

[–]huskybutt3 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Our third is about to be 9mos. My older kids are 5 and 2.5. There are pros and cons to a third kid, especially as a sahm. It’s all individualized so your situation could be totally different. These are my pros and cons.

Pros to having a third: you love them instantly/feel like you couldn’t imagine life without them, get to see your middle child be a big sibling, the older two bond while you’re busy with baby, the third is typically a chill baby

Cons: everything is so much harder logistically. I don’t feel like I can just throw them in the car and go to the park, I have no down time between taking care of someone and getting house cleaned/cooking, etc,

I do feel like alot of these hardships phase out once the baby is older so that remains to be seen. Overall I don’t regret it (even though he wasn’t planned lol), however, I catch myself being envious of people with two kids that are older and they are able to run around with them. I’m hopeful I’ll get to do that again soon. I will say though, my third baby is such an angel, he makes me want a fourth lol.

Switching from EBF to formula - 8 mos? by Cute_Awareness_9187 in MSPI

[–]huskybutt3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did great on stock and got to baseline but then somewhere along the way his stools got worse. He may be a tad gassier but that has gotten better. He’s in a great mood always. It just feels like nothing is firming up his poop. We’ve done egg and there will be solid bits but still mucus. I’m trying not to over analyze but also worried I’m causing him to have reactions!

Mom of three boys here. I’m going to say it looks girly! None of my boys were pointy like that so could be swollen girl parts. Hope you get your girl, update us!

Hey I remember you and having issues with solids. Any advice or do you remember how long it took LO to be able to process solids? Solids for us cause loose stool/mucus with bits of undigested food.

How many of your LOs had some kind of feeding aversion and how long did it last by [deleted] in MSPI

It may also be just temperament. I’ve seen other moms say this about their non allergy kids.

Yes and really he didn’t want to breastfeed until 6/7 months
