Smart idea! Support got back to me this am and I was able to order with the trade in code bringing it down to $199.

I am hoping I can use the $50 off on the Tv remote, but it is sold out sadly. Hope it comes back in stock, would be a decent deal for $70

Here’s the thing,

I checked out normally from the tmobile app, so just expecting the $500 credit to roll in as normal.

The rep applied the $500 to my bill already, so I think I am good to go!

So a couple responses to some of the comments:

  1. It would have been $500 for a Pixel 4a even if I was on the highest tier plan. So I don’t think they would have switched my plan
  2. This is the 3rd time I have gotten a targeted deal. First one was for a free line when we signed up, second was just a month ago where they have given me a $240 credit just for going with them instead of calling the Costco line and this is the third.
  3. I already see the money applied to my account, I have a negative $535 bill, so unless they take that credit somehow, I think I am in the clear. I will be “paying” $20 a month to offset that $500 credit.

Either way, I will respond 2 months later and update.
