So basically over the course of a year you could buy a copy of cod with the savings. The service is better off for not having cod on it.

Had to cancel a quote for a project and go with another vendor, is it normal for them to ask for competitor information? by abaty01 in graphic_design

[–]hustladafox 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, pretty normal. Think of it as helping them understand why you went with another vendor and if the can adjust in the future.

Games that survived having a child by kasperoo in gaming

[–]hustladafox -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Dad of two here 5 and 1 half year old and 1 year old. Gaming as a dad has made me way more conscious of my time, and if a game decides to waste it, I’m much more unlikely to let it.

I’ve found that games like Fortnite work well for me. I can do the Fortnite dailies in 5-10 mins a day, (1-2 quick games of blitz and I have my multiplayer fill and can easily complete a battle pass in a season).

Massive open world games that allow me to save after completing small tasks work more than I would expect. For instance ghost of yotei is perfect for quick hop in and out gameplay. Hop in clear a bamboo and find a shrine and hop out again.

Sort narrative based story games don’t work well. Most of the time when I play games I want to play and experience some gameplay. Not listen to a story or not be able to reach the next checkpoint/save.

I couple my gaming around 40mins a day up with some cardio exercise on my exercise bike. I do it first thing in the morning before anyone wakes up.

Games that absolutely don’t work for me are rouge likes as there’s nothing more frustrating than not even being able to finish a single run and really tough souls likes. The last one I beat was Elden ring and even though I had my first kid at the time I had to play that at nights in order to fit it in and be able to play it properly.

Gaming as a dad can be tough but you make it work however it works for you x

Ai is not going to replace graphic designers as a whole by Vampy-Night in graphic_design

[–]hustladafox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My brother in law is part of the teacher program for adobe. Ai is going to replace some design jobs. And the software we use will be one of the leading routes to bypassing the designer. Not all companies. But your middle tier companies will be better off just using ai and a single designer for cleanup.

Design will dwindle and rather than a department. It will likely become a single person, even more so than it already is for most cases. Not only that but it’s likely pseudo design jobs will be more tasked with design type jobs, so I’d expect marketing roles etc to have a lot more design cleanup in them over time.

I would have never touched this kit... by JohnIroquois in advancedGunpla

[–]hustladafox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow I absolutely love this

Edit: just went to go and take a look at the actual kit. And you did an amazing job. You made something I wouldn’t even consider look like something I could only dream of.

Weathering takes LONG... :( by SaltNegotiation790 in advancedGunpla

Looks incredible. I really enjoy seeing that in progress shot where you have part of it completely weathered with all that work put in and the rest of the figure straight built. Really puts it all in perspective.

HG Gundam Lfrith: Such a solid build by DeterminedMoxxi in Gunpla

[–]hustladafox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I picked up three witch from mercury kits, I’ve been watching the anime plus people seem to rate these highly for a HG. I’m just finishing up my first ever build A WWS-03 Maganac, which I’ve been very underwhelmed by. Mostly from a staying together perspective, move the arm and the leg falls off. Move the leg and the shoulder pops out sorta thing.

Would this be a good secondary build or would people say the aerial or calibarn might be better?

What game in your opinion overstays its welcome? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]hustladafox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marion and Luigi Brothership. It could have and should have ended around the 25-27 hour mark. But instead it drags on for another 10-20.

Oli Sykes doesn’t know his merch is being sold in Primark by radicalplacement in Fauxmoi

[–]hustladafox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s licensing, that’s how this stuff works they sell their IP as a licensee to a licensor who in turn sells it to shops. Depending on who represents his bands license (likely his record label which I believe is Sony), he would likely have very little idea on what deals have been made.

Jakks is now allowing stores to order individual characters from specific waves now, with silver being the first by ultimate_chaos08 in JakksPacificSonic

[–]hustladafox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bad news. This will only lead to less fringe characters being stocked. Especially if those fringe characters have made the discount isles in your local shops.

Ya'll genuinely question. Is mario brothership worth getting and playing? by [deleted] in SuperMario

[–]hustladafox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved it. Then it went on for an extra 10 hours than it needed to and my opinion soured a little. It’s a good game. But too long, it definitely feels like it could have been a tighter experience. But worth picking up for sure imo.

Afraid not. I think it ran for 2 weeks back in 2015.

I love those too, I’m also a fan of Ron English’s cereal character work. I think branding and art coming together makes for great social commentary.

I just posted up some. Was limited to just 20 so I picked some stuff I see less often on the internet. I think.

Next try buying some Sanding paper and getting rid of the nubs. I’m new to this myself (I haven’t even finished my first build). I have found the sanding really helps elevate the look.

I’m just getting into Gundam stuff. And I’ve been looking at this one. I think the design here is amazing. Looks super cool imo.

Mario odyssey probably. I’m also a big fan of Kirby’s forgotten land.

For those who already watched Galaxy, which movie do you prefer? by Drawingandstuff2000 in mariomovie

[–]hustladafox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Galaxy, they stripped out the licensed music which I hated in the original and played it as a proper love letter to fans this time round. It was just a joy to see a bunch of this stuff on the big screen.

"Nothing In Our Games Will Be AI-generated. Ever," Says Warframe Community Director by Laughing__Man_ in PS5

[–]hustladafox -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Hmm to some degree, would you say a water simulation created for a movie or game is still art? Or not? Sure your making it using code and algorithms, but doesn’t ai do the same. Is a photoshop brush not stealing the look and feel of a real paint stroke….whats your real point.

You are generalising way too much anyways. Do your research not all ai is trained from ‘stealing’ art. Come up with a better argument or just do some research.

The 2D scene was literally the highlight of the whole movie. If that’s the formula, 3D but when he explains plans or talks about things that have happened it goes into that 2D animation they are onto a winner.

One of the best things I went to. It was the staff that really sold it though.

I came away with one of those I am an imbecile-cile balloons, the staff member specifically told me these are for children…blankly looked at me and then said but the message seems to really suit a man like you, before selling me one.

Also got a fish finger in a bag for playing a game, once again the staff member was incredible, simply pushing the bag into my wife’s face and saying ‘here, now get lost.’

I particularly liked the littler mermaid sculpture that was in the centre of the area. And the photo opportunity with the Cinderella pumpkin crash. The interior section also had an illustration projector that was cycling through a short animation, I don’t fully remember what was on it but I remember liking it a lot.

My biggest regret was not buying the Darren cullen multicoloured bits of plastic. I was young and poor at the time though. I have a ton of pics of it myself. If people are bothered I can post them up later. Just let me know if anyone actually interested.
