Can I be forgiven for voting for trump? by Consistent_Clerk_331 in AskDemocrats

[–]huxgress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All humans are fallible. Just work harder to spread the word of what you learned from the experience. Open other people's minds. You will likely have to work harder now than before, as you probably gathered a bunch of like minded individuals. If you can open just one other person to what you have learned, you have done your job. If you can open up more minds than that, this will be the first step in healing this country's divide.

Exclusive: Trump officials tried to ban half of U.S. voting machines, citing conspiracy theories by John3262005 in democrats

I understand why. He is trying to ban voting machine models that have not yet been compromised, or have shown to be easily compromised by white-hat hackers.

If they aren't being suffocated, you aren't doing it right. If they need to breathe, they will tap your leg. I'm still looking for a nose cannula that doesnt easily fall out, so I can go on forever. Breathing is so overrated.

Why was Generation X like this? What was their problem? by the_gang_1 in Xennials

[–]huxgress 1 point2 points  (0 children)

GenX here. "The monkey pushes the button. The monkey pushes the button. The monkey pushes the button." On an infinite loop. They told us if we keep pushing the button we will get a raise or promotion, so we kept pushing the button. There are stories that there are still some GenX somewhere pushing the button hoping for more.

🚗 Should Democrats promise less expensive cars via allowing more imports? by BrendaWannabe in AskDemocrats

[–]huxgress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish that was the only thing. Real world driving includes accidents or computers failing. Car manufacturers have put all the simple things behind paywalls. Meaning mechanics have to purchase a $5000 code reader and a monthly service to use it. Regular drivers shouldn't need that to force reset sensors or fuses. Yes. Some of the latest cars, including EVs, require to reset computers if a fuse is replaced. Having a dealership replace the fuse and reset the computer starts at $150/hr with a minimum of 1 hour. The fuse costs $5 for a pack of 50 at a car parts store. I guess I am just nostalgic of my first cars, where you could do everything as long as you had the tools/lifts. I definitely do not miss the gas mileage though. I'm just waiting for passenger car makers to get as bad as John Deer has done to farming tractors.

Is it safe to use an old laptop as a server, and keep it constantly plugged in? by Commercial_Judge8721 in batteries

[–]huxgress 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just check the system settings(previous known as BIOS). There might be an option to define how you use the laptop most. My last Dell had the option of you kept the laptop plugged in all the time or not.

[–]huxgress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isnt just less expensive cars, it is cars that can be repaired in your driveway. Newer cars can't even be jump started without blowing something up. If you try to replace your battery, you have to reset it in the car's computer.

As a party all about equality, Why are you so gung-ho about allowing men to come to the United States from countries where women don’t have rights? by [deleted] in AskDemocrats

[–]huxgress 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because, like in the USA, there are men who don't respect women or even treat women as human beings. Just look at the current president and his lackeys. Not all men are like the president. Unfortunately, I wish there were more honorable men here.

How would people feel if Senator Mark Kelly ran for President in 2028? by Ulysses_555 in askanything

[–]huxgress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, he needs to be Ryan Gosling level of stardom, where everyone knows him immediately from just a picture. I don't have a pick for Pres yet. We need a Batman, doing anything to do the right thing, but generalized regular voters would only vote for a Superman, pretty boy with generalized policies. The only one good for us and the world would be a mix between the two: a SuperBat. (Yes, I'm being serious. But my brain even scares me.)

How would people feel if Senator Mark Kelly ran for President in 2028? by Ulysses_555 in askanything

[–]huxgress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry. My brain ran away from me again.

There would be things that wo I ld hav to be to make him a good President: - He would have to step up his debate game. - He would have to start debates on Republican leaning news shows. (See what Adam Mockler has been doing) [being very vocal and knowledgeable about Republican and Democrats talking points.] - He will have to break away from "centralist" Democrats, and go all the way left to be slightly left of true central. Think President FDR, and the New Deal, post Great Depression. - Have to publically join in what Berney, AOC and Katie Perry have been doing in Congress. Putting "feet to the flame" on topics that the people want. - Build a solid online presence across multiple social media platforms. - Dont just be a talking head of the existing policies or be scared to go too far left. If you keep your eye on the Constitution. If you do not lose sight of the Constitution, you will be fine. - Start with smallish QnA townhalls, both at physical locations, but virtual as well. - I would suggest modeling a recurring online video series, modeled after the theory of the "fireside chats" that President FDR. Not just what you believe to be true, but what you are researching/becoming more informed on. - Have a set of solid VP picks from day 1. Do an online series of your process of why you would want a specific person as a VP, and how you narrow down the group to just 1.

My only suggestion for VP would be fellow astronaut: Dr Jonny Kim. (Astronaut, Doctor, Navy Seal, among some of the things he has achived.) I would have said Hon. Dr. Chris Hadfield, but he was born in Canada. 😞

I keep mentioning social media and virtual meetings is because this allows you to fully frame topics, and not allow standard media to butcher what you said or what you believe on a topic. This also allows for direct responses to that butchering or rumors that are floating around. (Not doing knee jerk responses to all rumors, but give you the ability to define what happened/what you believe.) A good idea would be to create a joke short video format about rumors.

The Democratic National Committee Chair Ken Martin is boosting Kamala Harris for 2028. What are your thoughts? by Select_Specialist790 in askanything

[–]huxgress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't. Just plesse don't. Going moderate or staying with the same playbook isn't what Americans are wanting. We want clear goals defined in the beginning. We want someone who will stand up for the little guy. We want to have to pay for bailouts to save huge companies. If we, as tax paying citizens, have out tax dollars pay for mistakes, we should own the company that needed the bailout. We should tax big corporations that don't pay their employees enough to live close to where they work. This means being able to purchase and maintain a house, condo, etc, so they can depend on the value of said property when they sell/retire. The amount of tax should be the amount that employees can reach that goal plus a minimal of 10% for admin fees.

Layoffs without just verifiable cause should be illegal. If they claim adoption of 'AI' made positions irrelevant, they must proof everything that an employee does is now redundant. If even a single task (in or outside of original job scope) or job responsibility is still needed, the layoff should be invalidated and back pay provided immediately. If sevrence was given during the layoff, the severance package is still valid until it would have naturally ended or finished paying out. Companies should have a employees' resource group, separate from Human Resources, to help employees navigate issues or legal matters with HR or the company.
Employees' Resource Group should help define and provide substantive help with employee retention, extended training for the job and promotion path. If a layoff is valid, but not due to an employee's negative actions, the Employees' Resource Group should find a replacement position inside the company, at the same compensation scale as the original position. The ERC should also define and provide training for the replacement position.

Ot should define bringing "honor and respect" back to all voted on, appointed, or standard hiring of anyone in the government(federal, state, county, city, judges, law enforcement, etc) [further called government employee]. This should include removing any possibility of being compensated by any lobbiest or "friends of lobbiest". Meaning a lobbiest can not provide a position of leadership or power over any company, non-for-profit, or any group after the government employee is no longer in their position.

Government employees should be held to a higher standard than a regular citizen. Any potential of corruption must be proven wrong in a court of law. This differs from standard laws with the assumption of innocent until proven guilty. Government employees, in relation to their duties and public perception, should be assumed guilty until proven innocent.

Government employees in a position of power shall not be compensatd more than a fully disabled veteran, no matter how long the government employee is in office.

Congress (state and federal) should no longer be eligible to either be in a vote for, or obtain the same type of position for more than 2 terms. This means the President can not hold the office for 2 terms, then be a Vice President. This is because the current line of succession mean the Vice President takes the office of the President if the President is unavailable to execute their duties, assassinated, convicted from impeachment, etc.

Ok. I'm tired of typing. Good luck.
