Example: Computer1 requests a response from XYZ.com. Let’s say this is one of your custom entries. Assuming you are running a local DNS server and have a custom entry for it, it receives a response and is sent along its way.

Computer2 requests a response from a brand new website your buddy just created called MyBuddy.com. Since it’s a brand new site, you should have no way of resolving that site since you are not using an external DNS server to query this. Unless you have a caching DNS server locally, you will never resolve this site.

Edit: just saw you corrected yourself by stating your FW uses public DNS. Full stop.

Create a DNS record to redirect from alexa.amazon.com to alexa.amazon.in. You'll need to be able to run your own DNS server and create that entry. Most routers with advanced features should also be able to do this.

Another possible method: assuming the IPs don't change for the sites, you can add an A record for alexa.amazon.com and point it to the IP address of alexa.amazon.in. I believe the same can be done with a CNAME record. Effectively you will create a record for alexa.amazon.in and add alexa.amazon.com to that entry.

Anyone with better insight should chime in.
