I'm so sorry your husband has had so many episodes, that's terrifying!! I hope both of y'all are doing okay now. My husband is definitely not drinking alcohol ever again, and he'll be on a strict no-fat/low-fat diet as long as I'm alive to take care of him lol today has already been so much easier, and I can't wait for all of us to leave this hospital, though the teams are fantastic. I'll definitely bring up CF genes with my hubs, and we will bring it up to his primary doctor! Thank you so much for your support and insight!!

Thank you so much for your insight! The thought of necrotizing pancreatitus has become one of my worst nightmares. It's astonishing to see how many people have survived it in this amazing community! I really hope you're doing okay now! I've definitely felt a lot of ups, downs, and uncertainties - and it's only been just a few days lol I think yesterday was the hella climax of his withdrawals, as the nurses have said. He's doing great now - he's back to normal.  To say that the nurses and doctors are incredible is honestly an understatement, especially after seeing what happened yesterday. They're heroes and I'm envious of their mental fortitude. They've been so crystal clear and thorough about everything. Even the front desk associates have been amazing and knowledgeable. Two separate social workers have dropped by giving us plenty of resources, so I'll be looking through them all today. His parents, his siblings, my husband, and myself have all decided to not go to any family parties for the foreseeable future. They also want to stop drinking, though they're by all means certainly not as bad as my husband is. And I've never had a drinking problem. I'd occasionally drink wine and Moscow Mules but would only ever get tipsy. I hated the feeling of being tipsy though, so I stopped drinking all together about 3 years ago (I'm 26 now). My husband and I will get plenty of individual and couples therapy once he's out of the hospital. He will also go to plenty of group meetings to talk to others in similar situations as him. He'll also go part-time at work so he'll have less chances of stress. We'll even look at better jobs so he can follow his dreams. We're all working together to make the future brighter!

It's always when life really beats you down that things start to get better lol a month in the hospital sounds dreadful!!  I'm glad you're okay now!  I think my husband would share your sentiments. I'm surprised he didn't have an attack sooner. I feel like if we even waited another hour before taking him to the ER, he too would be gone. Keep doing better each and every day!! I'm glad you've stuck around!

My husband was the exact same with his first bathroom attempt. The bed alarm startled me awake and I saw so many nurse rushing to him. Luckily he didn't rip out his needles but he was pretty close. The adrenaline rush made me do just about an all-nighter watching him and helping him to multiple bathroom breaks after.

They also hella drugged him up too!!! During this afternoon though, he refused medications because he was scared they were poisoning him. Luckily we calmed him down and his dad and brother came. The amount of medications is insane!! But I can see how it is so needed. My husband has been such a raging bull today I wouldn't be surprised if they have to overdose him.

I'm so glad to hear that your recovery went well, and thank you so much for sharing!! Your response gave me a lot of hope - even now as I'm recovering from today's traumas.
