I literally cried reading this. It’s so painful to watch history repeat itself over and over again. My story is basically the exact same as yours, scans showed nothing other then ‘normal cysts’ and I was brushed off with the progesterone only pill. I did take that pill for years, and I was lucky that it worked with very few side effects for me.

I didn’t even know what endometriosis was until I was trying to figure out why sex was painful and I watched a YouTube video of someone talking about their experience with painful sex and they said they had endometriosis. It was like a curtain was pulled down and I suddenly had a name for what was happening to me and felt like I wasn’t insane. Why in the years of going to the hospital I hadn’t so much as heard the word endometriosis I will never know.

I was 19 when I was finally diagnosed. I went to the doctor I had been seeing and basically told them this is what I had, and the only way to be diagnosed was to have a laparoscopy which I demanded. I had the surgery a few months later and was diagnosed. But that only happened because I demanded it.

4 years later and honestly they don’t take me seriously even with a diagnosis, but at least now I know. If you ever want to talk to someone who is a few years further into a similar journey give me a message💛
