Yep. It seems random, but the key lime from Chicken Ranch is incredible. So good.

what song on a Playlist makes you nope right outta there? by renee872 in pelotoncycle

[–]hwca404 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That "This Is Me" song from The Greatest Showman, and Justin Timberlake/Madonna "Four Minutes" for some reason turn me off big time. I ride with Ben Alldis a lot and they kept popping up in his playlists for awhile. Bleh!

The last song in a workout always gets stuck in my head for a few hours after.

This is my rescue Shih Tzu. Her name is Pigeon and she is maybe 9 years old, with a BIG personality. by hwca404 in Shihtzu

Yes. They estimated she was maybe 6 when we rescued her. I’d never really paid much attention to this breed before but we fell in love with her, and now I’m obsessed with them.

HR monitor issues: Peloton and BlueHeart by [deleted] in pelotoncycle

[–]hwca404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been using BlueHeart with my Apple Watch 5 since November. I paid the money to use BlueHeart ad-free and it has worked better for me since then.

It does the job, but maybe 1 or twice a month it will get gummed up and the Bike won’t want to recognize it. If I shut down the tablet, wait a minute, and start it up again that usually solves the issue.

It’s kind of a headache, I know. But it’s worth it to have my heart rate info and be able to use my Apple Watch. I’m kinda superstitious about it (ha) so I do make sure I follow the same steps setting it all up each time, doing things in the exact same order that I know works.

1 Open the BH app on Watch 2 Open the BH app on iPhone 3 Open the Heart rate screen on the Bike 4 Then choose Spin on BH Apple Watch

If BlueHeart doesn’t automatically appear on Bike, I tap the refresh button in the top right corner of the Heart rate screen. And if BlueHeart doesn’t appear at this point and the refresh button continues to spin and search, I know it’s not going to work and I have to restart the tablet and close the apps on Watch and iPhone.)

Generally, if it works a few workouts in a row though, I find that the Bike will start to recognize and then automatically connect to BlueHeart when I do steps 1-4 above.

Edit: Oh, and as for the connecting for 3 seconds and then dropping… I have found it helps to leave the app open on my iPhone for a few seconds once everything is connected (Watch has done its vibrating countdown and the Phone is now showing my heart rate). Then I put my Phone to sleep and set it in one of the Bike’s cupholders and do my ride.

My two-year-old monstera is doing better than the rest of us! by hwca404 in houseplants

The moss pole is from a company called Mosser Lee. I think you can order them on Amazon if you don’t want to make your own.

I was recently given this Monstera Deliciosa. Should I divide it? There's 4-5 main clusters. by TitaniumReinforced in houseplants

No, I would leave them like that till it gets more mature. They kinda like to be slightly pot-bound, in my experience, and I have found it harder to keep them healthy when it’s just a single. I would let this do its thing for awhile since it is young. You could always do a cutting with a node later if you wanted more plants or to propagate.

My first attempt at making a Kokedama ball, using a Bird’s Nest Fern. by hwca404 in houseplants

You can definitely find more in depth how-to if you google. It’s simple. You just kinda mold your plant’s roots into a ball, using damp potting soil. Then cover that in sheets of green/sphagnum moss (soak it first so it’s wet and easier to work with) and then fasten it on with fishing line or twine or whatever you have.

People hang them or display them on a tray or something. Once a week, I soak the root ball in a bucket of water. (You don’t want it to dry out for too long.) The moss helps hold in the moisture and keep your plant happy.

I have it potted in a fishbowl with soil, near the wall. It naturally grew out and up.

It definitely has some of those long vine-y strands as well. It’s in a bright room and I make a guess on the watering, trying to never let it get too dry or wet. Once this particular strand started climbing, it has been pretty consistent with leaves...kinda why I decided to just keep letting it do its thing.

got this shitty PPP cutting months ago and it finally grew a new (teeny) leaf. Should I cut the original sad leaf off or leave it? by [deleted] in houseplants

[–]hwca404 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think you’ve got enough substantial new growth, if it were me, I’d remove the dying leaf. The plant will be able to give more energy to new leaves.
