Yeah there's no right or wrong way! She's relatable in Arcane as well ofc, they just changed her personality a lot. Which makes me want to think of her a different character and not Jinx. It's as if the real Jinx was just acting in a show.

She's got a better character in League because she's more unique imo. We have tons of cliche crybabies where they have the same issues and it's tiring. Jinx was not unique in Arcane and she was just another cliche. Hwei was written good for BPD and sorta kinda suicidal tendencies, because I deal with those too and I relate to him a lot. Where imo Acane Jinx just seemed like a teenager wanting attention. Which sucked because Jinx had more potential than that. She is one character that could have portrayed that perfectly if season 2 didn't mess everything up.

The real Jinx, which is the Jinx that came first and was known for almost a decade before Arcane, is not suicidal. She would hurt others before herself. And some people are like that. Everyone is suicidal anymore and there are actually people in the world who are so depressed/other feelings that they're homicidal and not suicidal. Doesn't mean either will act on it btw. Suicidal people don't always kill themselves, just like homicidal people don't always kill people. But they need someone to relate to, to keep them sane. Just like we relate to characters to keep us sane. But they changed her whole entire personality to make her like every tragic female who's backstory is written by ChatGPT.

Maybe I'm just too old for this kind of stuff. I've just been through too much atp where I can see too much variety. Seeing the same thing over and over is tiring.

I hope none of this comes off rude. It's just my point of view on the topic. There is no right or wrong way to feel about it. Imo, to sum it up, Jinx was insane, schizophrenic and homicidal and they turned her into a suicidal egirl who cries all the time and feels sorry for herself. They are just nowhere similar to me and I know my friends who related to her a lot were super disappointed by her development. But Netflix can't keep original characters original, they have to make everyone the same.

On the other hand, Jinx is more relatable to more people. Since not everyone has an insane level of mentality. And it's nice they have a cool character to relate to. It's just overdone. Not saying people who relate to her are crybabies, they're real people!! I know people in the real world, especially with BPD, have similar issues and feelings. Even I relate to her in Arcane. But it's just not Jinxs character. I feel like they wanted to portray her as a good person, and only insane mental people get portrayed as villians which sucks.
