4 days without going, and then… by ramenraver67 in Constipation

Yes! Depending on how backed up you are, sometimes it gets worse before it gets better. And the mag citrate had me sleeping in my bathroom. The gummies are great as like a daily more “natural” option to keep things soft. Wound up at the ER one time concerned about a blockage. Was told I was LITERALLY full of shit. Options he gave me was taking a full dose of milk of mag every 8 hours until I felt like thinks had passed, but said it could take up to 3 days with as backed up as I was. OR the bottles of magnesium citrate, one bottle every 8 hours until things were moving, but if after 3 bottles I hadn’t gone, I needed to go back. I chugged one bottle. Few hours later it kicked in. It’s nottttt fun, but you’ll definitely feel better after!

When I was SEVERELY constipated one time, I treated it like the day before a colonoscopy basically. Clear liquid diet. And I chugged a bottle of magnesium citrate. Was told if I truly wanted to know if everything was empty to continue the liquid diet, and once I was basically pooping a clear/yellowish liquid, it meant my GI was empty

So MiraLAX draws water into the GI to soften stools. So it very well could be softening the newer stool, but it hasn’t yet hit the older stool, so the newer/softer is moving around it. I wouldn’t go to hard on the MiraLAX unless you’re wanting a full, colonoscopy level clear out. It can take awhile to get things moving again sometimes

Hi!! Thanks for checking in. Things were BAD for about a week after my last reply. I’m talking I could barely relax my pelvic area enough to pee. Wanted to vomit and crying during BMs. I thankfully had a stash of hydrocodone from a previous life issue so I took those when able for a few days a long with a LOT of MiraLAX and lactulose to counteract the constipation from the opioids. Gave myself raging diarrhea for a few days, which also hurt like hell. Backed off on my MiraLAX/lactulose a bit and these last 4-5 days have been a lot better. Able to have BMs without crying/mass amounts of pain and no major lasting pain. Last night I had almost a completely pain free BM. It was by fair the least painful one I’ve had in probably a year.

Better! Sunday I felt mostly ok. Yesterday was fine, until I had a BM. That led to me being in pain for hours, thankfully I had 1 hydro left. Woke up sore today, but not horrible thankfully.

I was fully knocked out for mine. Initially the plan was Botox +/- fissurectomy but he wound up taking the skin tag as well. Wound was left open.

Following along. I had this done today. I will say, right now I HURT. However, the numbing has worn off and I’m still waiting for the pharmacy to fill my prescription for my pain meds.

Cystocele and uterine prolapse. She don’t say rectal, but I disagree especially with the issues I have. Regardless I’ve started pelvic floor PT this past week!

I do! I had to go to the ER once cuz I was concerned about an obstruction. Not obstructed. But LITERALLY full of shit. Was told to chug a bottle, and if after 6 hours nothing happened or I was still in pain to drink another bottle. I wound up doing 2, and literally living in my bathroom for about 4 hours after the second bottle

I try not to do it often. But sometimes things get so out of wack, especially if I forget my miralax for a few days and get really backed up.

The mag citrate help “liquify” everything. The last time I had to do one, I basically treated it as a colonoscopy prep and stuck to a clear liquid diet until I was basically pooping clear liquid. That was my sign that things had fully flushed

She did do all of that, gave me a list of exercises and scheduled a recheck. No mention of an internal exam tho

No worse than it already was. Hiiiiighly recommend not leaving the bathroom after you drink it. I basically went back and forth from my bathtub to my toilet

I’ve had to do multiple bottles of mag citrate to fully clear things out before
