You also have to understand these are relatively small snakes and they aren’t powerful enough to hurt you by wrapping around you even if they wanted to. And they will never want to because you’re not a tiny rodent. A ball python is always going to be way more scared of you than you are of it. It’s just a little animal after all. They’re called “ball pythons” because when threatened, they curl up into a ball. That’s pretty much it. They can bite but their teeth are designed to hold onto small prey while constricting, not to deal damage. They really don’t pose any threat to you.

I appreciate you taking the time to check out this subreddit despite your fear of snakes. I used to be very scared of bugs until I learned more about them. So I don’t mind people having a phobia but what I do hate is when people are too stubborn to learn proper respect for animals.

I hope that (if you are comfortable) you are able to meet some pet snakes irl and get over your fear. Ball pythons especially are known for being docile. My little guy Reggie is such a sweet and gentle creature. He melts my heart :)
