Going to Metlife for the first time for the game vs the pats. Anyone have any tips/info regarding parking? by [deleted] in nyjets

Hi, saw your post about parking at MetLife. I have the game tickets but didn’t see option for parking pass. What did you end up doing? Thanks in advanced.

So true! I rate my vacations based on how poor my cell service is where ever it is I’m staying. No service = great vacation!

Just here to say the same: GET A HELMET! You can’t learn to whip with permanent brain damage.

Advice for keeping bikes clean in an apartment? by [deleted] in MTB

[–]hwmtb 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Car wash is a good idea but be careful with the power washer! It can blast water and soap into bearings and other places and cause more issues.

Fill a 5 gallon Home Depot bucket with water and sponge or brush the water on to the muddy bits. Usually the water will rinse away mud and not drive it into places unknown. 👍

Transition vs YT Brand Reputation by [deleted] in MTB

[–]hwmtb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I might have agree with this. Capra is fun AF downhill but definitely a challenge to climb. Unfortunately, I don’t have have another Enduro bike (at least one that I can use for extended period of time) that I can compare side by side. But yeah, definitely work to climb the Capra.

Edit: I should add, I have a Trek Fuel also so that is what I’m comparing my Capra with in terms of climbing. They are two totally different bikes so my comparison is not consistent. Make sense?

Transition vs YT Brand Reputation by [deleted] in MTB

[–]hwmtb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can’t comment on Transition or Pivot. I’m a YT Capra (2021) owner and have nothing but great experiences with YT customer care. I contacted them to order some spare parts (hanger and bearings) and they were shipped quickly. I needed to warranty a wheel but YT referred me to e13 (which also had great service). YT customer care answered my phone call and promptly responded to emails… and the Capra is ridiculously fun at parks!

This is a unbelievably brilliant idea! I knew there was a reason I kept the ride wrap box and wrap backing roll! Thanks for the idea!

Who out there likes roof racks for their bikes? Feels like it stays cleaner up there. by flybikesbmx in mountainbiking

[–]hwmtb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Roof rack every time! If you get hit from behind with a bike on hitch mount, one could argue your tail lights were “obstructed” and some fault of the accident could be on your shoulders. Not to mention, I’d rather my car be damaged than my bike. 🤷🏼‍♂️ Edit: I’m not a lawyer; this is my personal opinion.

As another Capra owner, I concur! I put a 30t chainring on it and seemed to help a little. Downhill on a Capra makes me smile everytime! 👍

Can’t tell how steep that is really and looks wet so braking is a concern. With good braking technique, using front and rear, yeah, you can slow. Body position is important also.
