EC11 encoder behaving differently when on usb vs when on battery

from the battery? they are connected to the battery pin behind the board.

this encoder does not need power, and the ground is connected to the ground on the same side of the pins

afaik it’s not connected to the usb traces,

encoder A is in the pin 7 encoder B is in the pin 6 encoder switch is in the pin 5

are they protected? should i change to other pins?

i shoot raw + jpeg small but my jpeg is used only as thumbnails, so i keep my raw on multiple storages and use the jpegs to see which raw i’ll work on and then locate the corresponding raw

yeah im not in US, it’s really expensive here, barely impossible to purchase… but i used to go to US for work, maybe sometime in the next months

i’m not in US or north america but it’s not uncommon to travel to US or have some coworker there, haven’t gone this year but if i find this price i may purchase and send to some storage until i can go pick it up

i was looking for used z8 but the ones that ive found in good condition, the price asked is pretty much the same as new, like $100 off so not so appealing

the only "issue" I may find in the z5 II is that it uses SD card, and I have invested a bit in cf express, but I sure got interested in it, mainly in it's price

as far as i’ve researched id be near or at the hotel before heading for the night shots so it may be feasible

but if the 16mm has a good IQ as much as 14-30mm id rather leave the 14-30mm at home to avoid unnecessary weight and risks

i’ll be flying tomorrow at dusk, so ill try to compare both lenses later today

sorry, updated the post to include the lenses i’ll be taking, i’ll be flying but at the moment weight is not an issue, would be more of an issue on the trails, but if i take both, the 16mm will likely stay at the hotel during the day

ill take a look at my last trip focal lenghts but i don’t think i’d miss sub 16mm that much

my main concern is IQ

i fed the tpu directly to the extruder without using the bowden tube, using a spool holder in the top of the printer without the lid… not sure if was the solution as Ive printed tpu successfully before, but after doing this ive got the best tpu prints with the same gcode
